About this Cook
Absolutely LOVE Japanese food! Of course, it helps living in Japan. Always looking out for new recipes. Pretty much will eat anything.(as long as it doesn't move,LOL) Lived prior in Southern California and learned to cook many Mexican dishes. Now it is Japanese and Filipino dishes.
My favorite things to cook
Japanese and Filipino dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making cookies on and around Christmas. Having my kids decorate cookies every Christmas eve.
My cooking triumphs
Created a sugar-free no bake chocolate cheesecake. I have yet to post it. It is smooth, creamy and oh so rich. I have tweaked a lot of recipes to make them healthier for my family.
My cooking tragedies
Early in my years, I made mashed potatoes that were like soup. Cooking is all about trial and error. I have had contest winner recipes come out horribly.

Stovetop Granola
So easy and great tasting too. I added sunflower kernels and raisins instead of almonds and cranberries. Tastes great on yogurt!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I found that 1 cup of water was way too much. I did like the flavor, but it seemed a little weak. I think next time I will double everything, but reduce the water to 1/2 cup.

Uncle Dank's Gumbo
Instead of the spices, I added three tablespoons Zatarain's creole seasoning. Gave it just enough spice. It turned out fabulous! Definetly will make again.
