About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom of 2 teen boys, have always been lucky to stay home and raise the guys. They are finally at a point in their lives where they are willing to try new foods! I have a wonderful man in my life who loves to cook and eat. It's so much to cook together in the kitchen. He's teaching me all his cajun secrets! I love to cook and love to have people to experiment on. Growing up Southern, I love good ole southern cooking and food has always been a passion in my family. The first question when we're all together is "what are we going to eat?" I enjoy cooking big holiday dinners as well as daily experiments.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, most especially cakes! I love to make decorated sugar cookies around the holidays.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my boys were little we started making gingerbread men at Christmas. That tradition continues now, 13 years later. I hope that it will become a family tradition in their homes with their children someday.
My cooking triumphs
I have been very pleased with how my decorated theme cakes have turned out.
My cooking tragedies
Bread for me is a hit and miss endeavour! Once it will turn out great and then the next 3 times it won't, like golf...frustrating enough to keep me coming back for more.

Roasted Roma Tomatoes and Garlic
I was very liberal with the olive oil. AFter roasting, I cooled them then pureed them in the food processor. Added some more fresh italian herbs from the garden and tossed it over pasta!

Dutch Oven Mountain Man Breakfast
Ok made 2 of these for my son and 12 frat bros! Made one with Sausage as written...was ok...needs hot or seasoned sausage. Mild sausage gets lost in the mix. Made another one with bacon (chopped the cooked) and they finished it off. It was definitely the better of the 2. I was at home so baked them in 13x9 pans in 350 oven for about 40 mins.
