Breakfast, anything. Creating something out of nothing - whatever's in the refrigerator and pantry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving potluck: my stuffing, unstuffed, is always requested at family gatherings. Fruitcake: my grandmother used to make for my dad, I took the task over after she passed and revised it, it actually tastes better than hers or any store bought - forget the fruitcake jokes!
My cooking triumphs
Anything for which people keep asking me the recipe or to bring to a social event.
My cooking tragedies
salt instead of sugar; added 1 container (1 pint) of sour cream to Goulash instead of 1 cup - whoa!; enchiladas too spicy-hot to eat - ouch!
