Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Thanks for a great recipe. I served this at a baby shower this weekend and it was delicious! Followed the recipe pretty closely, but didn't have Romano cheese so doubled the Parmesan. It was pretty thick, even when warm, so I might add extra mayo or some sour cream next time. Otherwise, this was very good. Thanks again!

Crab Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Thanks for a great recipe. Just served it at a baby shower and it was a hit. I read other reviews and added about 1/4 cup of sour cream and 1 tsp. of Old Bay seasoning. This was delicious warm in a bread bowl with toasted pita triangles, and also chilled, though very thick. Thought it would be great on a bagel, but there wasn't any left to try! Thanks again!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

This is a delicious, easy-to-make cookie that I've enjoyed making several times. I like it with Marionberry jam, but otherwise followed the recipe and directions exactly. Thank you, Dee!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
This was a delicious, easy-to-assemble recipe that my family loved. I bought two foil 'casserole' pans (round, 9x3" - perfect!)and filled both. I baked one and froze the other. I liked how easy it was to modify the recipe to make it more or less spicy. I'll definitely make this again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
I used Allison's recipe for my family cookie exchange and in the words of my nephew, "Aunt Diane, you win!" These are amazing! I read through several reviews and used the advice given about refrigerating the dough before forming the balls and also freezing the balls before dipping. Both excellent suggestions. This isn't a simple process, but well worth the time. I used peanut butter chips for coating chocolate fudge cake balls and they were a major hit. I also tried carrot cake/cream cheese frosting/vanilla coating and german choc/coconut pecan frosting/milk choc coating. Those are also delicious. Thank you, Allison, for a great recipe!!

Italian Confetti Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I really like this recipe. Followed it very closely, including the fresh basil. I did add sliced green olives and small cubes of mozzarella cheese. It was important to put this salad together well in advance so that the flavors could properly blend, and also to give the pasta a chance to absorb the dressing. I found that I needed to add a bit more just before serving. Even my husband, who is a self-proclaimed 'meat and potatoes guy' had seconds of this. That's a home run!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Thank you for a flavorful, easy recipe. I made it for the first time last night and followed the directions very closely except for the cilantro. Don't care for it, so I substituted blanched broccoli flowerets. Turned out great. The dressing is outstanding. I can think of many variations for this recipe and the dressing will be the key that makes it work every time! Perfect for leftover chicken, but I will also try with leftover roast beef. Thanks again!

Seafood Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
This is a fantastic recipe. I made it for a large family gathering and now I'm 'on the hook' to make it every time we get together! I've read the suggestions and even tried a few, but this recipe is delicious just the way it is. I enjoy the subtle flavors of the creamy, cheesy goodness that surrounds the crab and shrimp. Fresh seafood is expensive and I would rather taste that than a lot of spices. This recipe is also a perfect jumping off point for a spicier dish, if that's what you prefer. Thanks for adding a wonderful new favorite to my seafood menu!

Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
I've made this recipe as written and it was definitely worth 5 stars. The flavor was perfect. This time, I added a couple items, looking for more of a 'Baked Potato' soup. I fried about 12 strips of really meaty bacon until they were very crisp, and then cut them up to add when I put the vegies back in the pot. I also added 8 oz. of Smoked Black Pepper White Cheddar Cheese cubes to the sauce as it was thickening. To make sure it wasn't too salty with the addition of bacon and cheese, I used a low fat/low sodium chicken broth. It came out just right and had a very creamy texture. It was a hit at my house! Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Grandma's Carrot Cake

I baked this cake during the holidays and it was sensational. I received nothing but praise. I did use a cream cheese frosting instead of the buttercream, but I followed the cake recipe exactly. AWESOME! Many thanks for sharing.

Spanish Rice Original

I've made this twice and I just love it. There's plenty of flavor and color, but was very easy to tone down for a spice-sensitive stomach. It's a hit at my house.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2005
This recipe was easy and excellent! I served it with grilled pork chops, so substituted sliced mushrooms for the ground beef in the sauce. I knew I had a winner when my son, who isn't a fan of pasta dishes, had seconds! This was a major hit at my house.
