Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
These were nothing special IMO. The only difference I made was to add vanilla and soak the cranberries in warm water first to plump them. They were ok, but I won't be making them again. To me they were lacking in flavor.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
PROS-Fast, easy, cheap. CONS-VERY,Very sweet...overly so. Definate cake mix flavor. This recipe is good in a pinch, but it needs some tweaking IMO. I would definately try the other suggestions of adding lemon juice to the jam, to cut the excess sweetness. Not a favorite of mine, but my husband thought they were great--but then, there is very little foodwise that he doesn't like!

Cirak (Egg Cheese Roll)

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Not like the cirak we grew up on. Ours is Easter cheese, not a sweet desert. But gave it a shot anyway.

Fry Bread Tacos II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
I only used this for the fry bread recipe..it was awesome..ande EASY!! I topped half of them with barbequed pork and coleslaw, and then did the others with powdered sugar and cinnamon--delicious, thanks for such a great recipe. The only thing I had to do was keep adding flour, because the dough was very sticky, but that is probably because it is so humid here in Florida.

Cheesy Tuna Mornay

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
I was looking for ideas to make something with what I had on hand. This was a great fit, with some minor tweaking.. I used 1 3/4 cans of evaporated milk to make it creamier, added half of a brick of cream cheese (approx 4oz), salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder. I didn't have rotini so I used a box of linguini (boiled just to underdone,so that it would not get overcooked in the oven)---peas, corn. I toasted Panko breadcrumbs and topped it. It turned out really tasty. Pretty good for a 'nothing to make' kind of day. Thanks for the idea.

Cornbread Muffins II

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
Very, very easy. I added 1 cup grated parmesan cheese and 1 cup frozen corn kernals to batter. I didn't have buttermilk so I used the buttermilk substitution from this site (1 cup milk, minus 1 tablespoon, plus 1 tablespoon of lemon juice). I got 12 large muffins (muffin cups were filled to the brim!) Also, I forgot to add the oil to the recipe and they came out fine and rose up nicely. That was the good, here is the bad.. very, very bland--needs a kick of flavor, maybe garlic powder or cajun seasoning would kick it up a bit. Also, do not fill the cups full like I did, it was very hard to remove from the tins. Not terrible, but not so good either.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
If I could give a negative mark for this recipe, I would. The crust stuck --no, it became part of the pan, could not get it off, we picked off the cheese and ate it alone!! Awful recipe !To say to oil the pan is not enough, really oil it, OR YOU WILL NEVER GET THE CRUST OFF OF THE PAN!!!!

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This was great! I used canned pumpkin instead of roasted and it turned out delicious! The only thing I will do next time is add a layer of carmelized mushrooms and onions, other than that it was fabulous--even with the one small change I made, I left the feta out because my husband won't eat feta (he doesn't know what he is missing!)Also, for those of you who couldn't find fresh pasta sheets, I use large wonton skins in their place (they also work great for making homemade ravioli!)--I usually find them on the produce aisle refridgerated.

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
These get a 5 for ease..and taste too! I was out of shortening and too lazy to go to the store, found this recipe. So easy to make, I only would have like them more if they became more of a golden brown, but nonetheless, they were tasty. I ate two before I presented them to my husband! Will make again --great for breakfast too.

Creamy Italian Dressing II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
A good basic recipe to use. I did add a little black pepper and some crushed red pepper to jazz it up a bit though! To the reviewer who used Miracle Whip..Miracle Whip already has a high sugar content (compared to real mayo) that is why you didn't need to add the sugar to the recipe. I actually used Smart Balance light mayo, which I did not like on it's own, but tasted fine once mixed with the other ingredients. I will use again, great on pasta salad. Thank you.

Jordan Marsh Style Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
These are really, really good and easy to make!! I only gave 4 stars, because they were a little too sweet for me, but that is just my taste..my husband loved them!! I will make these again, but might cut back a little of the sugar on the top. I will never make boxed muffins again!

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2006
Although these are very light and fluffy, as other reviews have said, they are very, very eggy!! If I were to re-name this, I would call it French Toast Pancakes, because that is exactly what it tastes like!! I added 3 tspn. white sugar and 1 tspn. of vanilla. I also added fresh blueberries to half the batter and no matter what, they still tastes too eggy--but I am sure my husband will eat them, he is like Mikey and will eat anything!!

Italian Cookies II

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
Not bad, but very sweet due to the icing. Very moist. The only suggestion I have is to add sprinkles or jimmies to the top of the cookies, otherwise they look a little bland. But a good way to use up ricotta cheese.

Very quick, easy and delicious. I didn't have sour cream so I substitued mayo and added some garlic powder to the curry. A squeeze of lemon completes the fish..will make again.
