Sicilian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
This was excellent soup. We all loved it. I did make a couple of changes due to personal tastes. I added a pound of sausage, three cloves of garlic, a 1/4 t. of fennel seed, and then used 6 cups chicken broth. Served it with a thick Italian bread, and it was a huge hit! Thanks for the great recipe!

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2004
This was wonderful! I used ricotta cheese and added three big cloves of garlic. I also had to use an 11x14 inch pan, but I'm so glad, because now we have enough to share with family and we get to eat it again tomorrow! Thanks for the great recipe!

A Nice Slow-Cooked Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
This is the best pork roast I've ever had. Moist and flavorful. I think that next time I might add less broth and sherry and more vegetables like carrots and green beans because the vegies were so good! Thanks for the great recipe, and my family thanks you, too.

Cottage Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
A good friend called and asked if I had a good meatloaf recipe for her husband (he's got cancer). I don't like meatloaf myself, but this looked like the reviews were good, so I gave it a shot. It was a huge hit! I served it with red mashed potatoes, broccoli in lemon butter, and chocolate cake. People are still talking about it! Thanks for the great recipe!

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
This salad dressing is just wonderful. I did use half of the sugar, and at first I was afraid it was still too sweet, but once I made up the salad it was perfect. I used green leaf lettuce, blue cheese, toasted sliced almonds and red onion. My dad actually licked the bowl.

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2001
The pork chops in this recipe are amazing, but I found the sauce to be very bland. The second time I made it I made some changes. I didn't bread the pork chops this time, just browned them, and then continued with the recipe. About two hours before serving I added a teaspoon of thyme, a half teaspoon of garlic powder, a bay leaf and some salt and pepper. This time the sauce was as good as the meat! I served the whole thing over white rice and my husband, son and I all loved it. I'll make this one alot!

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2001
This soup is so good! I used evaporated skim milk, and added about a half cup more than called for, and I didn't puree the mushroom mixture. It's one of the best mushroom soups I've ever had. The sherry adds a wonderful flavor.

Hot Onion Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2001
This was really good. I used light cream cheese and light mayonaise, and no one could tell the difference. I served it with melba toast and baguette bread.

Barengate Bay Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
I thought this had nice flavor. We'll probably make it again. I did use half wine and half chicken broth. The sauce was pretty runny, but other than that it was pretty good.

Penne, Tomato, and Mozzarella Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2001
I really liked this recipe. It was one of my favorite pasta salads ever. The only thing that I'd do different is double the tomatoes, and add a quarter cup or so of pine nuts. It was good warm, but wonderful the next day when the flavor of the basil was stronger. I used three cloves of garlic, too, and would use a little more next time.

Easy Ham and Noodles

Reviewed: May 30, 2001
We love this recipe! I add a little more ham and cheese than what the recipe calls for, and the last time I made it I added onion, mushrooms, garlic powder, and about a teaspoon and a half of dijon mustard. It was wonderful! I think it was the mustard, but my husband didn't stop saying how much better it was. He even called me after he ate it for lunch! Very good!

Gourmet Tuna Salad

Reviewed: May 21, 2001
I thought this was great, but there was way too much mayo and sour cream. I used about a third of what the recipe called for the next time I made it, and it was perfect. I also love capers, so I added a few more. Overall, it was great! Definately my new tuna recipe!

This recipe was a disappointment. My husband and I both thought it was too runny, and very bland.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2001
This was great! My husband had it over toast for breakfast the next day! Following the advice from other reviewers, I used 2 tablespoons of cornstarch instead of the flour, and only 8 ounces of sour cream. Really good!

Herbed Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2001
This was really good! I used more garlic than the recipe called for, and used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and my husband and I both loved it! Next time I'll try fresh basil.

Lettuce, Avocado and Sunflower Seed Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2001
I love this salad! I used half green leaf lettuce and half bib lettuce, and I ended up giving the rest of my dinner to my husband so I could eat the salad. Definately worth the calories once and a while! My son didn't like it at all, though.
