Blueberry Buttermilk Coffeecake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
This makes a massive cake, and it took nearly three hours to cook all the way through, and over flowed all over the oven. So this time, I'm going to half the recipe and see what happens.

Honey-Garlic Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
Wow this is my biggest failure on here to date (almost three years of allrecipeing). It turned into a burned sugar mess of blackness, the meat jerky, and unedible to even the dog.

Pork Cutlets with Cranberry Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
I used this recipe on a "center sliced pork leg". It came out great. Moist and slightly sweet, just the way pork should be. I omitted the oven part as I saw no need for it.

Fake Sourdough Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
This recipe makes really good biscuits if you follow the directions differently. I halved the recipe and I mixed the yeast water and sugar togeather, then cut in the butter and soda, salt, and powder. Then I added the two and a half cups of flower and added buttermilk until the dough became doughy. It kneeded well and I let it rise for an hour before rolling it out and making biscuits. The end result was airy and light rolls that would have tasted a lot like real sourdough biscuits IF the sugar content had been less. I will make this recipe again and I encourage others to try as well.

Picadillo

Suprisingly flavorful, sweet, spicy and complex. Goes excellent with rice, or better yet gorditas. One of only two recipes I have tried on here that is knock out delicious.

Whole Wheat Bread III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
For people who prefer not to use powdered milk or a bread machiene: Use 1 and 1/4 cups milk. Heat milk til scalding and add butter. Set aside til lukewarm, add honey and sugar. Proof yeast in mixture then add salt and cornmeal. Gradually stir in flour and kneed for 8-10 minutes. Cook in 350º oven for 30-35 minutes. Works great! Thanks for the recipe.

Apple Spice Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
I used apple sauce instead of an apple and added 1/2 tsp each cinnamon and cumin. Turned out great.

Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
This was good. I would reccomend halfing the salt and adding two tablespoons of brown sugar, whaich would make this recipe a true five star.

Sweet and Tangy Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
Really quite good. I used 3/4 of a cup sugar, and 1 tsp of dill. I also baked in the oven at 375º for 10 minutes per side and it turned out great. Will make again.

Lemon Dill Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
The dill overpowers every other flavor as is. Use only 1 tsp instead of two tablespoons unless you like rice textured pickles. Had to toss it out.

Apple Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
These came out very thin like some reviewers had said. They also made a mess of my oven. However, they turned out to be delicious.

Absolutely The Best Shrimp Scampi

This was pretty good. Like some other reviewers have said I think it needs something to make it fantastic. I certainly make it again.

Parmesan-Black Pepper Arborio Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
This wasn't the pilaf I was looking for, but I thought it turned out pretty tasty. I served it with some shrimp scampi and it complimented it well. I reccomend adding garlic and mushrooms like one other reviewer suggested. Also, you don't need to add the salt as most broths already have quite the salt content.

Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
I think these muffins were pretty good. They aren't as sweet as some, but are excellent with butter, more like a roll than a muffin. I also highly reccomend sprinkling the tops with brown sugar. It is an easy addition that makes a big difference.

Beef Loaf Deluxe

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2005
This meatloaf is quite tasty by itself, and the veggies make a meal out of it. This recipe would make a absolutly scrumptious cassarole if you did not loaf the meat and rather broke it appart with the veggies and tomato sauce. I will certainly try it like that next time.
