Slow Cooker Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Won't make this again. The chicken was dry, and the entire dish just didn't have much flavor. If I make it again, I'll do my own version with more liquid, more spices, maybe some white wine in the cream sauce.

Potatoes Au Gratin with Fennel and Bacon

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Love it, love it, love it! And my picky boyfriend does, too. Great with pork loin and salad. Be brave with the basil- would prefer a little more next time. I took the advice to par-boil the potatoes, boiled for about 7 minutes, then sliced. Cook for the full 90 minutes. Thanks for a good one! Having never had fennel before, I feel much more confident after tasting this great dish.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Awesome. Although I have a confession: I didn't read the recipe- just the ingredients. I blended the crm. chz, ranch and Frank's hot sauce with my hand mixer and stirred in the chicken and grated cheese. Served it cold. Fabulous and FAST! (why heat it??) Good with doritos, too!

Tomato Gorgonzola Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
Like most reviewers, I made a couple of minor changes... substituted FF sour cream for the cream cheese and 1/2 c. half&half for the cream + milk. I don't have an immersion blender, so I strained out the chunks and, consequently, a lot of the flavor. Add some salt, maybe a bit more gorgonzola. Thanks for the recipe!!

Cool Cucumber Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
yep- very refreshing and crunchy and tasty! don't skimp on the lime juice... add lots... needs a bit more salt, as well... 1 jalapeno won't do a thing with the spice factor- it needs 3 to get any kick at all. and don't get impatient with the refrigerator time... it needs to flavor up for a while. :)

Omelet in a Bag

turned out great! watch out, though- don't stir the bag too much... mine broke before i took it out of the pot. it was still yummy, though!

Cheese Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
these biscuits have the subtle flavor of "comfort food." i'll make these again but will add more garlic salt- the earlier review about them being too salty just stumps me. i found them to taste just the opposite. in agreement with an earlier review- be sure you eat them while still warm! (especially yummy dipped in homemade marinara sauce)

Waffles I

delicately crisp on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. a nearly perfect waffle. i left mine on the waffle iron for 4 minutes, doubled the vanilla and sugar. yum!

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
awesome. as recommended, i made onion rings with the batter instead of a blooming onion (i didn't trust my abilities to make a great bloom). i cut back the cayenne to 1/2 tsp. (batter) and a pinch (dip), and it had just enough heat. delicious, delicious. the result was definitely worth the work of double battering the rings.

Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2003
This recipe did not turn out well for me. The filling was too runny and actually tasted gritty. Very dark flavor, as well. Won't make again.
