Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2015
This was just "OK." The cabbage soup from the 7-Day Weight Loss Diet (aka 'Wonder Soup') is much better. It has a chicken-broth base instead of beef, and I think the seasonings - garlic, basil, oregano, red pepper - make it a more flavorful soup. I'll stick with that one!

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
My husband couldn't get over how great our salmon tasted with this recipe! FIVE STARS, even though I used 1 teaspoon of cayenne, which is a lot for me! I don't think that much butter is needed, and I might cut that back a little next time... However, this recipe is absolutely delicious!!

Quick Hoppin' John Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I doubled this recipe, except for the wild rice mix - and it was great. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I would not double the rice mix in a double-recipe. The flavor of the seasoning packets would be too overbearing. I used Uncle Ben's and 1 box totally changed the flavor of the whole dish. Wasn't too sure I liked the flavor combination, but got rave reviews from others. None the less, this is a hearty soup, and worth taking the time to write a review. Thanks for sharing!!

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
OMG!! Rave reviews at the family dinner. Everyone told me to quit my day job and start a cheesecake business. Honestly, in my 40 years of baking, this was the FIRST cheesecake I've ever made! It made me very nervous, since there are so many varying recipes out there. I was sold on this one after reading reviews, and followed Heinlord5's cooking directions (200 degrees). PERFECTO!!! Not too dense (or sweet); And beautiful as well! Taste and texture rivals any New York Deli, for sure!!!

Banana Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Very good recipe. THANK YOU!!! A big hit with co-workers! It really annoys me when people alter good recipes, but here I go: I added a drizzle of icing over the top made with powdered sugar, milk, butter and vanilla.

Oven Baked Jambalaya

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
Not impressed with this jambalaya at all. Rice was not tender after 1.5 hours; and, too long to cook "frozen cooked shrimp"- it was chewey. (I'd use fresh and add toward the end). Oven baking was convenient, but overall flavor was not worth the wait!
