Hot Chocolate Mix II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
This is what I've been looking for...my mom made this often when I was growing up and as much as I tried could never get it right! She called me to see if I had the recipe for it the other day so I got on here to look for it...now I have to send it to her!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I forgot til the last minute that I was supposed to make cookies for my daughter's camping trip(for treats on the way). Found this recipe and LOVE it! It's so easy and they come out fantatic. I had to taste on from the first pan to see how they were. It was so tempting to eat more, but had to save some for the kids!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
I wouldn't rate these as "the best" because I didn't think they had a lot of flavor. I did love how fluffy they turned out and I didn't have to add extra flour as I usually have to do. I will make them again but add a little extra sugar. I added little vanilla this time but will have to add more to them next time I make them.

I made this for our Sunday School volunteers a couple weeks ago...they were delicious! This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
YUM!! I'm going to delete the other pancake recipe that I saved to my recipe box after tasting these! The batter seemed very thin so I did add 1/4 c. more flour and added a little sugar. Other than that no real changes were made. My kids loved them as well.

Wylma's Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This looked great when I read the recipe, but as much as I love cream cheese I won't put it in again. I didn't have cheddar cheese so I couldn't add that, but next time I'll be sure to add cheddar, salt and pepper and definitely OMIT the cream cheese.

Sausage Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
These were great and so simple to make! I made them for our church volunteers last Sunday morning...double batch...but sprinkled grated cheddar cheese on top of the sausage. They were gone in no time, and I had several requests for the recipe.

Grandma's Brown Sugar Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
I thought these were really good and nice and soft, but I did add more flour as it seemed pretty thin to me. My family gobbled them up in no time!

Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
I have been making a scalloped corn recipe that my aunt gave me for the past 18 years...this is her recipe, but she (and I) don't put sugar in it. I do, however, drain the whole kernal corn before combining the ingredients. I tried it once without draining and it seemed mushy to me.

Creamed Peas

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
It didn't seem to make enough sauce for my tastes. The taste was fine, but next time I'll have to make more sauce for it.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
Great pancake recipe! My family loved them, my 8 year old daughter ate SEVEN of them! I did add a bit more milk to it because the batter was thicker than I wanted it, but it was still thick enough to have nice thick, fluffy pancakes. I added a little more sugar as well.

Cinnamon Supper Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
Loved this! I did cut back a little of the powdered sugar and added some cinnamon to the cake mixture, although I may add a little more cinnamon to it next time because my children like a little more cinnamon taste.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
We loved this cookie! The batter was a bit thinner than I wanted it though, and I had no extra oatmeal...just the cup the recipe called for. So I improvised and used about 1/2 cup of my baby's infant oatmeal. They turned out great, my whole family loved them.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
after I put only half the milk called for into the batter, I knew it was too much...it looked like soup! I tried to fix it by adding a little flour. Unfortunately I added too much and they came out heavy, although they did tast good. I think I'll give up trying to make homemade biscuits, I just can't seem to get them to turn out.

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
I agree with other reviewers...WAY too much baking powder! I do like how fluffy and light they are, but next time I will half the baking powder.

Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
How can there be anyone who's never heard of a Snickerdoodle?? These are delicious. I thought they looked underbaked after 10 minutes and ended up baking them for 15. They looked fat, but turned out hollow and crispy...I don't know if this was due to the increased baking time or what, but they were very good. Next time I'll take them out at 10 min and see if the texture is any different. I saw that it was supposed to make 18 cookies so I doubled the recipe and ended up with almost 6 dozen! Someone makes very large cookies!!

Real Southern Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
This recipe did not work well for me at all. I ended up leaving it in the oven over an hour (the recipe said 40 min)and it was still very undercooked inside although the crust was hard. I was very disappointed after all the good reviews I read when I first decided to try it. I had to find another recipe.
