Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
These are great! My husband has pretty much polished them off in 2 days by himself, I will have to make a couple more batches for the christmas tins. One hint, I didn't know how big to make the balls of dough, to get 40 cookies, make them about 3/4 inch in diameter.

German X-Mas Rum Crowns

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
This recipe didn't work at all. There wasn't enough liquid to make a dough so I started adding a little more rum until there was, at which point, the butter started melting and then it was too wet. Maybe if you mix with your hands to melt the butter and add a little more rum than called for it might work. I tried baking them anyway, but they really didn't taste all that interesting, so it wasn't worth trying to save the rest of the dough. Just kinda like chocolate cookies. And mine came out looking more like brown pretzels than crowns anyway.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2005
These were great! I made them for company and everyone raved. They were so impressed with my cooking abilities... and really, these are soo easy. I didn't change a thing about the recipe... my only tip is that you really have to put the icing on as soon as they are out of the oven. Otherwise, it won't melt and it'll taste too sweet. (We had leftovers, and when we reheated them, the icing was a little thick and too sweet. We just heated them up a little more and they were still great.)

Pecan Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2005
This was an OK cheesecake. I have made and had much better. The cake didn't have a lot of flavor, it was actually to fluffy to me. I did have to cook it about 15 minutes extra because the center didn't firm up. So I don't know if my sides were overcooked because there was no way I was going to get anything to stick without smearing the topping on the sides. (I just put it on the top and it still looked impressive).

Zulandt's Lentil Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
This was absolutely delicious. My family isn't vegitarian, we just like eat healthy at times so I used beef bouillon cubes instead. Next time, I won't use bread crumbs, it really doesn't add anything to the dish. I will probably just top with cheese and bake at a higher temp to get a pretty top to the casserole. You could eat it before you put it in the oven if you wanted. Just make sure to salt and pepper to your taste before putting in the oven, or it could be a little bland.

Spiced Chicken Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2005
Everone in my house loved this dish. There were even fights over the leftovers. I made it without any substitutions and it turned out great, not dry at all! (I did use cheap ground chicken, so it may have had more fat in the meat to start with)

Apricot Marinated Eye of Round Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2005
This came out delicious and the meat was very tender! I left it in a little longer than in the recipe, on accident, but it still came out great! The gravy was different and you have to be careful if you actually use all the liquid in your blender, but it was worth the trouble.
