Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
Really well balanced. I will have to add- I did not have all the time in the world to prepare this salad.. so, I added everything as I went along. The canned tomatoes were superb for this dish, I would have not changed a thing. Oh, I did add cilantro because the basil was a little off. but other than that... its was fantastic.

Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
I enjoyed this recipe! I used another type of cut of meat... london broil to be exact. It worked just fine. This was my first time using pear. I am not sure but is it a tenderazer? I have used kiwi before but never pear and will have to continue to use pear from now on. I would rec using a little more that the norm on the following: garlic, s.seeds, s.oil, mirin and of course allowing more time for the meat to marinade on the actual sauce. It is delicious!!!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2005
I def. LOVE this!!! One of the best recipes I have found. I did make some modefications... I fried the bacon on the stove top, then used the bacon grease to cook the mushrooms on high heat. It gaved the mushroms a bacon taste to it. I put together the recipe as normal and added green onions for flavor and color. I finished it off with Mozzarella cheese and a little of Light Cheddar. Sides, I nice crispy salad with honey mustand dressing, tomatoe and basil tear and share bread and couscous.

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
Coming from a hispanic background, I am used to eating foods with lots of spices and flavors. I was a little reluctant towards this dish to start off- fortunately I gaved it a go and tried it with a little modefications here and there. I am thrilled that I did because it was delicious! The sauce came out tasting somewhat like Birria. Which was good. I also made Cuban rice and beans which complimented this dish very well.

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
OK. Dont get your hopes up. This recipe needs a lot of flair to it. I had to add so much to boost up the flavor, BLAND. My son liked it... other than that, I am still waiting on my husband to say something... not sure if its a keeper..

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
Like many other reviews, this recipe did need some spark to it... thank goodness for spiced! I will admit though, my husband who is not so keen on cabbage asked for seconds. Its a fairly easy recipe to put together and just forget about it... in other words, easy and delicious for those lazy days. Goes wonderful with garlic bread and Iced sweet tea.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
This recipe was ok, I would not give it a four star because it needed extra ingredients to enfuze the taste. I followed everything to the T, and the batter was not as crispy as I originally expected! Other than that, it was ok. My family ate it with no problems... Next time I will add baking soda.

Caribbean Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
I love it. Have to hear what my hubby says after work. I pretty much did what this other reviewer posted. I cut the chicken into pieces and marinated it in the cocunut cream along with, ginger, pepper, cummin, garlic for a day or so. I then followed the recepie and browned the chicken tossing it with the veggies and baked it on a tray for 20 min or so... absolutely delicious... Oh, when browning the chicken, I added pineapple juice with chunks of pineapple.

Shepherd's Pie VI

I live in England and have gradually started to cook shepards pie. This recepie is not Shepards pie. Its quick and easy but nothing like it should be. I skipped the recepie and made my own variation.

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
Better than your Marie Calendars! I did change a couple of things though. For instance, I used cornstarch to thicken the liquids, added cream of chicken soup, added brocoli with potatoes and carrots in conjunction with the frozen veggies. To add more zest to it I added cumin, black coarse pepper, sea salt, oregano. \

Strawberry Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
I made this not so long ago. I absolutely loved it. I cut down on many of the products that contained a high in fat/carb percentage and substituted with low carb/fat. It was very delightful. Both my husband and I loved it. I did leave out the banana, because I figured that the vanilla pudding would inded give it a banana taste after all. I am glad I did that because adding banana would have been a little too much. I also used fresh strawberries instead of frozen. What a difference. Thanks for sharing.
