About this Cook
I'm a 31 yr old warrior or terror depends on who you ask. Been in the kitchen since 5 w/mom's help :-). Learning to expand palate and have a willing partner in the adventures of cooking ride!!!
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian seeks to come natural. Luckily I live in an area where some of the normally "hard to find" are readily available. Been working on getting down a good alfredo. Surprisingly the good ole fashioned hamburger takes top votes also. To friends and family they are a must whenever I can be pinned down on a rare Saturday afternoon.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There's something about Thanksgiving for me. Maybe it's Aunt Rosetta's dressing with my mother's turkey, or my grandmother's from scratch buttered rolls? I just know that on this 1 holiday we all feast on any meat, vegetable, cake, pie etc. . .and then pay for it for about a week in doublin up the exercise rountines.
My cooking triumphs
Being able to create dishes that people enjoy, and request. I've come a long way from burning things up!
My cooking tragedies
After spending nearly 50 bucks and about 2 hours on the "perfect" lasagna, while taking it out of the oven after baking it tipped and fell onto the door. I nearly cried bad enough dinner was lost, but the mess was even worse (cheeses).

Strawberry Sauza(R)-Rita
This cocktail was sooooooo good and very pretty. I served these yesterday at my Mother's Day get together and they were a hit like others stated before. As a note if you but a 1/5th of Tequila (750ml), the regular size Strawberry Pucker and the bottle of Champagne go ahead a buy 3 cans of the Limeade Concentrate. Don't cheap out ond get the store brand, go for the Minute Maid. 1 batch goes quickly and with the above bottle sizes you will be able to make 3 full batches. They are strong so be careful!!!! ***Just as a side note, Strawberry Pucker is the name on the bottle for Strawberry Liquer made by DeKuyper***

Lentil Soup
This was great. I DID NOT use 1/4 of olive oil and did not miss it either. I used just enough to get the onions and carrots going. I used all vegetable broth in this instead of using chicken to keep this a vegetarian meal. I loved how easy it was to throw this together. I will be making this again, I think next time I will be adding some zucchini, squash and bell pepper.

Tempting Tuna Salad
I tried this recipe as written and gave it the 4 stars. The apples added a nice crunch to the mix. After trying things this way, my brain wanted more. I made this again and doubled the amount of tuna used wanting to add more crunch and depth. I added 1/4 green bell pepper, 1/4 red onion and 2 celery stalks- all diced, use the WHOLE apple and 1 more egg. Now I was happy! Thank you RAINYDAZE for this jump start. I would have never thought of using an apple. :)
