About this Cook
Born, raised and continue to live in Southern California. Married to a great guy for over 20 years & we have two 'keepusonourtoes' sons ~ 17 & 13. We just bought our first home and the kitchen had to be completely gutted. So instead of the traditional route I put in all "restaurant" shelving, stainless tables and a free standing stainless sink. I love it!
My favorite things to cook
Chocolate! I love to bake it, mix it, whip it and even fry it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
This summer I will be working on the second edition of our family cookbook.
My cooking triumphs
For my 40th birthday my mother & sisters (check out the photo posted) arranged to have a day of cooking with Chef Jennifer Bushman! We had personalized cookbooks and aprons ~ it was so much fun!
My cooking tragedies
No real tragedies - I like to think of them as learning experiences! Ok well the s'mores egg rolls weren't a huge hit but we all liked the idea!

Bread Machine Bagels
My sister and I spent the day making bagels from this recipe - we had great fun and they turned out great!

Shepherd's Pie VI
This makes for a good base to work with but it was rather bland if recipe is followed to the letter. I added garlic and Italian spices to the meat as it was cooking and that helped.

Apple Loaf
The taste was very good on this bread. I made several additions to the recipe including milk, spices and doubled the amount of apple (chopped). It came out a wee bit dry even though the cooking time was spot on. I will try adding a bit more milk next time.
