About this Cook
Just got married this October in Savannah, Georgia :) I love to craft and am addicted to the Food Network and HGTV. I enjoy cooking but hate cleaning up !! I also enjoy collecting and reading cookbooks.
My favorite things to cook
I am trying to make it a habit to try a new recipe a week. I love Mexican and have made enchiladas which I love! I generally love to make eewy, gooey, cheesy Italian dishes... yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try to remember foods my grandmother used to make that I took for granted then but would do anything for now! I search the internet in an effort to find some of her old recipes because they bring me a sense of comfort and warmth.
My cooking triumphs
A whole Thanksgiving dinner, complete with menu, for my husband and me !! Gravy made from scratch and homemade mashed potatoes!
My cooking tragedies
Well, the first time I cooked a turkey I did forget the gimblets .. my pumpkin cheesecake didn't turn out :( I'm sure there's more but I can't think of them...fortunately :)

Caramel Bread Pudding
I agree with some of the other reviews. The middle was extremely mushy and egg-y, to the point I thought I did something wrong. I did not use whole milk, but the recipe does not specify. I chopped it up and put it back in the oven. I'm waiting for it now, so we'll see if that helps at all, but will not make it again.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
While the rootbeer was a decent liquid for cooking it, it did not seem to add any flavor to the pork. I used country style ribs and they did come out tender. However, if I didn't use a family favorite bbq sauce, the pork would have been bland and boring.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs
Was a good recipe, but even after marinating overnight, not enough flavor for us. Made it Asian style by cooking it in a wok, then added broccoli and peppers and served with rice. Next time will keep a lot more sauce aside to top at the end. With the extra sauce, it will probably be a 4 star recipe!
