Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2002
This was okay. Although easy to prepare it was lacking something. It tasted a little bland. Perhaps next time "doctoring" the filling with additional flavourings or spices would make this a bigger success.

Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2002
This is a nice textured muffin with very pleasant results. I too, like a previous reviewer didn't think the orange flavour was strong enough, but my family like them lots as they devoured the whole batch within 30 minutes. Something must be right. Thanks for sharing.

Tom Szaller's Great Pan or Bird Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
I did not care for this recipe. It is a good thing I had several other side dishes. This is definately not worth the work or effort for me.

Caramel Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
These were pleasant however I did not ice them. I just could not bring myself to make an icing that called for a cup of lard (disgusting)As it turned out they were just fine without the icing. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Wonderful, my turkey was fabulous. It was moist, tender and tasty. The only change I would make is too start basting it later as the with the glaze it darkened way too much. The gravy was awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Scandinavian Almond Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2003
I have made these bars twice now and both times I have been disappointed. Although the flavour is nice, I find that the bars turn out with an almost raw like texture even with baking longer than stated. I dont think I will add this to my favourites list.

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2002
This was an excellent addition to my home made cheesecake. In fact, I am constantly hounded to bake cheesecake because my family loves it and although I used the exact same recipe as always, they said this was the best cheesecake I have ever made (must of been the topping)Thank you for sharing, this is a definate keeper. One note, I doubled the amount of fruit called for and it was YUMMY!!!!!

Raisin Honey Chews

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2003
These were very pleasant flavoured cookies. It is a great way to use up the last little bit of honey. We will make these again. I altered the recipe a little by using butter instead of shortening and 1/2 cup of sugar. Next time I might add a tsp. of orange flavouring as well. Thanks for sharing your cookies with us.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
This is a very easy, tasty cookie with an elegant look. I have made these twice now the second time ommitting the drizzle which cut the sweetness. Thanks for sharing.

Caramel Shortbread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2003
Thanks for sharing this recipe. It is a pleasant surprise to find that it doesn't end up sickly sweet. I made this for a function at work and everyone wanted the recipe. Needless to say there wasn't a crumb left. This is a keeper!

Turkey Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2004
This was just okay. In order to make it worth a "second" try and in order to make it acceptable to feed the family it took a whole lot of doctoring. It was extremely bland, and tasteless prior to that. After adding a bunch of spices and veggies it received an "it's okay" rating from the troops. This just didn't do it for our family. I won't be making this recipe again.

Cinnamon Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
I just finished tasting one of these biscuits, warm from the oven. They are yummy! They have a light, moist texture which must be from the sour cream. I think the next time I will increase the cinnamon as it was a little too subtle. Thanks for sharing. This is a keeper!!!!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Well I have made these cookies twice now and they are just not worth making. In my opinion they are nothing more than sugar bombs. Tasteless and dry. Definately won't make these again!

Angel Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Yummy, these are really good. These are a crunchy, terrific flavoured, nutty cookie. I made these up as part of my "care packages" too share with my family but must admit, I have eaten so many of them, they didn't get as many as planned. This will be a keeper, make again, and again recipe in my home. Thank you for sharing!

Dad's New Zealand Mince Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2004
After all of the previous reviews I expected something fantastic. While this has a nice flavour it is far too sweet. For all the time needed with all the simmering etc. this is really just okay, and according to my family NOT a keeper. Thanks for sharing just the same.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2003
Easy and refreshing. I changed a few things, used 3/4 cup of milk and a lg. instant vanilla. I also drained the fruit for one hour. It was thick and creamy and not soupy at all. I like the idea of adding fresh blueberries or strawberries for added colour. Thanks for sharing.

Christmas Eve Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2002
This recipe was a little bland although it has potential. This is a good base for a stew however, I think it needs a little doctoring up for enhanced flavour.
