Yellow Squash

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
I made this tonight. It was pretty tasty. I added onions that had been sauteed in a little olive oil. Plenty of garlic. Then after I drained it well & mashed it all up well it was just too watery. So I stuck it in a pan with crushed crackers on top 350 for 15 minutes. And it was pretty darn yummy that way. Helped to bake out alot of water. I will make this again and again, but I will for sure put it in the oven after I smash it all up.

Fresh Pear Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
Gosh this was really good. It is not icky sweet. I think it is just perfect the way it is. I can't imagine it any other way. We have pear trees galore where we live and Nobody around here will pick the local trees, so I generally put up about 600 pounds of pears. So this is just a perfect pear pie for that cold winters day like today. Excellent!

Great Pumpkin Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Wow! My pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving has just lost its place. My husband said, this is better than any pumpkin pie I have ever eaten. Lets not have pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving ever again and just eat this instead. I said sounds like a winner to me. I made this EXACTLY as stated! This will be not only my recipe for Thanksgiving now but will also be my Potluck dinner recipe to take in the Fall/Winter. LOVE IT!!!!

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2012
Wow! I was nervous about the salt issues people were talking about so I only put the turkey in the brine for 24 hours. Well it was awesome, but will put it in the brine for 48 hours next time. The turkey was so juicy and had the best flavor. I made it exactly as the recipe stated with the spices. I had a 16 pound turkey, cooked on 500 degrees for 30 minutes, then reduced heat to 325. My turkey was done in 2 HOURS! NOT kidding!!! Can't wait to make another one! So trust what everyone is saying on the time! I will never make another one that I do not use this recipe to brine Mr. Tom.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
I made this EXACTLY, NO changes. :( . I was very very disappointed. Very Bland. I even let it set overnight as I wanted it to be extra good and let the flavors run through it. (I didn't add the tomatoes until 1 hour before or the dressing as stated on that). Waste of money. I took it my event anyways after I doctored it up to even make it more eatable. VERY disappointed after I read all these reviews. I will NEVER make this again or recommend to anyone.. Blah...

Salsa II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
Great Salsa Recipe. I just chunked all mine up like a pico de gallo. And canned all of this. Made 2 batches, and only used 1/2 Jalapeno's and the heat was just right. Now my Jalapenos were home grown so I think they were a bit hotter than what you buy. I used 3/4 of the onion mixture only.. Lots of onions. Used all the same spices and it was really good.. Loved it!!!!! Will make more as soon as I get more tomatoes! Oh each batch make 7 pints for 6 pounds of tomatoes and all the goodies that went into it... TY for sharing your recipe....

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
I made this as specified/except I used 1/8 less cup of milk and put that 1/8 on the buttermilk side is all. OK I took others advise to only mix this 1 hour before eating.. MISTAKE PEOPLE! I mixed the base up 6 hours before and let it set in the fridge WITHOUT the coleslaw in it.. But here is the MISTAKE. If you don't mix it together 6 hours before it is not going to break down like it should so you coleslaw will taste dry. SO TRUST me MIX it all together 6 hours before hand. After mine set in the fridge for 6 hours it was PERFECT! So I strongly suggest to mix it ahead of time. This IS my NEW coleslaw recipe! TY so much for sharing it! LOVE it and it was a big hit with my coleslaw making mother. She asked for the recipe!

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This was good. I did add carrots to mine and a can of cream corn. If others are saying they didn't care of it much or didn't like it then they just don't like traditional chicken noodle soup. This will takes like traditional Chicken soup. Which I like so thats why I gave it a five.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I made this to the tee. Cook for 30 minutes. Tasted it and said, HMM, something isn't right. So doubled the chili powder/cumim and added 1 tsp of Salt PLUS 1/2 can of Cream of Chicken Soup. That did the trick. Delicious! RAVE reviews from Family and friends. They all said tasted like the Mexican food restaurants. Will make it this way from now on....

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I LOVE BEANS, I LOVE HAM in BEANS too. BUT I did not care for this recipe. I made it the way it said. My husband and I are both HUGE soup eaters of all kinds and NOT PICKY eaters either. But I'm telling you we did not care for this recipe. We don't like to waste food either, so we ate it. But man we did not care for this recipe.

Delicious Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
LOVE IT! I added 1 can of drained corn and did add the extra rice as suggested and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt... I cut up celery and onions and cooked them in some butter too before I added them to the casserole. YUMMOOOOO... I loved this recipe.. It was so good. Bet you could add some broccoli to it for something green in it... Let it stand after you cook it for about 10 minutes before serving.
