Elegant Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
When I was in Oslo, Norway recently, I was served a bowl of Mushroom Soup at Annen Etage, one of Norway's most exquisite restaurants. This prompted me to find a recipe for mushroom soup that I could make at home. For my first try at making mushroom soup, I must say that it was pretty darn good! I doubled the recipe, and used my immersion hand blender to blend the ingredients in the pot. Although I used too much black pepper, this recipe is a pleaser and I can't wait to make it again!

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Don't let the photo fool you! These are by far the best peanut butter cookies that I have made or eaten! I, as well, used 1/2 cup of butter in place of the shortening as well as an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter; they are just amazing. Next time I make these I think I'm going to put a few peanut halves on top to see how they turn out. Try these, you WON'T be sorry.

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2005
I've found my new "Favorite Chili" recipe! I made a DOUBLE recipe for 16 and I modified it slightly, 747captain style. I used 3 cans of black beans, 2 cans of kidney beans, and 1 can of pinto beans. I also added 1 packet of HAIN taco seasoning and a dollop of Mick's jalapeno garlic jelly from Pike Place Market in Seattle. Great chili for the winter!
