About this Cook
Presently, I am the happiest I've ever been! I have the love & support of my family & friends, I have a job I love, and I am engaged to a wonderful guy - and he's a chef!
My favorite things to cook
I've always thought of myself as a terrible cook. Quite by accident, I've taken a liking to baking. It all started when I had some extra time on my hands and realized that my kitchen was harboring a basket of very overripe bananas. I asked my best friend for a recipe for banana bread and it turned out better than I could ever have imagined! She introduced me to this site and the rest is history.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother was a wonderful cook and baker. Living on a farm, she used fresh ingredients and cooked for a large family with love and care. For lemon meringue pie she would use goose eggs, which made EXTREMELY tall and fluffy meringue.
My cooking triumphs
That first loaf of banana bread. Corn bread. Cheese tea biscuits. Crock Pot roasts and stews.
My cooking tragedies
Tuna casserole. I used a package of powdered flavouring for the dressing. Never again!

Bev's Mac and Cheese
this was so quick and easy. The taste was a little bit bland so I'll probably add more cheese as well as a few other additions next time

Sloppy Joes II
This made an easy and tasty dinner. I added fresh garlic and used brown bread instead of buns. To complete the meal, I also made potatoe skins as a side. Will be keeping this one for sure.

Tina's Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are SO good! I used milk chocolate chips and they turned out wonderfully!
