Tomato Basil Soup I

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I hate to be the one bad review, but I thought this tasted like watered down spaghetti sauce. As spaghetti sauce it was really good (I strained it and used it as such last night--my family loved it). As a soup, not so good.

Minced Beef with Black-Eyed Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
I loved this recipe! I couldn't find garam marsala at my grocery store, so I made it without it, but it was still great. And super easy to make. Thanks!

Avocado Stuffed Yams

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2006
I was surprised by this combination, but I like avocados and I like yams, so I thought I'd try it. It was truly wonderful! I loved every mouthful, and ate the leftovers for several days. I plan on making again and again. I'm even considering making a two layer dip (yams and guacamole) for our next party. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
My husband loved this cake. I used vanilla pudding and was going to use orange extract when I saw an orange cake mix in the boxed cake aisle and decided to skip a step and use that instead. It turned out really well, but the glaze didn't soak in. Next time, I will try some of the other methods of applying the glaze--and I'm thinking about putting a chocolate glaze on the cake. But there will definitely be a next time!

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
Easy, but not spectacular. The better the box cake mix, the better the resulting cake. I added another 1/2 cup of sour cream to make it more moist. Glazing it with a chocolate glaze made it more decadant and little more special. You really can't beat how easy it is.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
My family loves this recipe! I made it once with short ribs, but switched to making it with pre-cut stew meat. The sauce is delicious--a cross between pot roast flavor and beef burgandy. I chop my veggies up very small so they melt into the sauce, then I add some bigger chunks of carrots, onions, and celery to stew with the meat. I serve it in bowls of mashed potatoes. A huge hit every time!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
Taste great and super easy! We just had drop in company and absolutely nothing to serve, so I popped onto All Recipes and found this recipe. I had all the ingredients on hand, it took almost no time at all, and turned out great. I hate sugar cookies, but loved these. My husband and our guest gave great reviews.

Chocolate Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
Really easy. Really good. I followed the recipe exactly, but I only ended up with 25 truffles. I guess I was making them too big.
