Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Excellent recipe to start with but I did have to make a several changes. I quadrupled the espresso and only doubled the liquor (it was for sunday family dinner), I used the Starbucks coffee liquor, ended up used almost double the whipped cream (but I did decorate the top with it), and dusted cocoa powder on each layer. I didn't split my lady fingers (used 1 1/2 pkgs) and I used a 9 inch springform pan. Made this 2 days in advance but definately could have made it 3 days in advance. Only gave this recipe 4 stars because I feel alot of the measurements are off. Next time I will try making my own ladyfingers.

Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I have been goofing around with my ice cream maker and this is my favorite recipe I have made so far! Served it with "Hot Fudge Sauce II" from this site, but I doubled the chocolate in that recipe. Cooking the custard took forever though! I had to stir it for 45 minutes! My boyfriend said it was worth it though!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Very hearty soup. Used mild italian sausage and rolled them up meatball style. Also I added most of a rib of celery and used low sodium broth. Served with italian bread. Will make this again, but maybe with a bit more broth and water.

Hot Fudge Sauce II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Last night I made "Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream" (from this site)for my boyfriend for his sore throat. I forgot to grab hot fudge from the store so I decided to give this recipe a try. Even better than Smuckers!! And doesn't contain any high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils!Halved the recipe, used Ghirardelli unsweetened squares and doubled the amount. Even threw in a few Ghirardelli 60% Cocoa chips I had laying around. Excellent. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!!

Gingerbread People

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I made these with my little one last night, but I did make a few changes. I agree with another reviewer about the dough being too crumbly, so I added about 1/3 cup unsulfered molasses at the end. They were soft, spicy and delicious!Although next time I will reduce the ginger to 2 1/2 teaspoons, it was a little much for my taste. Also I iced these guys with royal icing using meringue powder, recipe can be found at wilton.com. With my revisions I would give this recipe 5 stars.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
I tried to make this recipe into cupcakes for Christmas but they all cracked and tasted horrible! Worst of all it was late at night and I had to quickly make something else to bring the following morning and I only got about an hour of sleep! I don't think I'll ever bother to try to make this into a whole cheesecake, I'll just try another recipe. update: Try Alton Brown's Sour Cream Cheesecake at food.com. perfection. you can watch the episode of him making it on youtube!
