White Chili with Ground Turkey

I have been making this recipe for a few fall/winters now, and its a definite fave. The cinnamon gives it such an interesting taste that you don't want to stop eating (but I do halve the cinnamon). One thing I do that's not in the recipe is whisk in a big scoop of sour cream at the end of cooking, then melt in some cheddar cheese. It gives it incredible richness....so tasty!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Phenomenal banana bread. I've made it several times, and it is excellent every time. This is my only banana bread recipe now. I only bake for 50 minutes...that seems to be perfect for my oven. And one other change I make occasionally, if I have it on hand, is to reduce sugar to 1/2 cup and use 1/2 cup Stonyfield Banilla (banana-vanilla) yogurt in place of the sour cream. Ahhhhhmazing!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Delish! I've tried other tilapia recipes and most of them have tomatoes and/or white wine. That flavor just doesn't bake up well with me. But THIS! This is super tasty and amazingly easy to make. And you will always have everything on hand (especially if you use bottled lemon juice...which I did, but it would be better with fresh for sure!). Really easy, really tasty. Even my 2 and 4 year olds loved it! I added the garlic to the melted butter which made it so easy.

Spicy Basil Chicken

YUM! I wasn't sure oyster sauce would be the right flavor in this dish, but IT IS! It tastes just like #9 at my favorite local Thai place (gai prig prow...I believe). I didn't have hot chiles, so I used chili garlic sauce (with the rooster...Sambal Oleck) and I added sliced red peppers onion and a can of bamboo shoots (to make it more like my favorite #9). It worked! This is on the repertoire for sure!

Mom's Cucumber Salad

This is a very sweet recipe. I halved the recipe and only used 2 tablespoons of sugar, and I don't like it at all. But I'm more of a savory girl, and I knew I shouldn't have used that much sugar. I like the base of this recipe though, and next time I will use only maybe teaspoon of sugar. Oh! I also used sourcream. They're interchangeable, really, but I do prefer the salad with sourcream.
