I am a stay-at-home mother of four daughters. It is a very busy life, quite chaotic at times, but I feel extremely blessed. I have lived in Texas for 20 years and even though we are not big fans of the hot humid summers, can't picture living anywhere else.
My favorite things to cook
I have always enjoyed baking and tended to put most of my efforts into baked goods, but have over the past few years I have enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My most favorite is baking cookies at Christmas time. I love to get the girls in the kitchen with me and make up many different kinds of cookies, some to keep and some to give to friends/neighbors.
My cooking triumphs
I feel a certain sense of a triumph when I prepare a meal that EVERY one in the family enjoys and I don't get any complaints!!!
My cooking tragedies
My first time to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for my husband.... I relied on the pop-up timer that came in the turkey and it never popped up! Sooo everything sat and got cold waiting for this turkey to get done, only to find it had finished long before and we ended up eating cold sides and a very dry turkey! Now, I use my meat thermometer!
