I've discovered I have a knack for cooking. I love figuring out what things work how and why, and trial and error is the best part of what I do. I'm a college student so I don't have as much time to cook as I'd like to but I love to please my family with a really nice home-cooked meal as often as I can. :)
My favorite things to cook
cornbread, stir frys, egg drop soup, any kind of dessert. XD Mostly I like to try new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
we always have pot-lucks at every family gathering and everyone bakes one dish of some sort... we have a feast. :D
My cooking triumphs
I made a fantastic yellow cake from scratch with chocolate-cream-cheese frosting and bavarian cream filling... it was probably the best cake I've ever had.
My cooking tragedies
When I was really young... middle school age, I didn't know what "corn syrup" was, and so when a recipe I was trying called for it, and we didn't have any, I used "corn oil" thinking it must be the same thing. XD; Boy... my dad sure gave me the weirdest look when he tried my dessert. xD
