Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
LOVE this recipe. I took the advice of a couple of other reviewers and used string to cut off the rolls. Will definitely use that trick in the future. I also soaked the raising overnight in rum which adds a little extra. Next time I make this, I will also double the filling. Overall, a fantastic recipe and was a special treat for a cold Christmas morning.

Smoked Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
This makes a really large batch and I didn't have some of the ingredients. Plus, I wanted to use some left-over salmon I had made a couple of nights ago. I also used chicken broth as many other readers had done. In addition, I had the dill weed but it didn't seem appealing so I substituted it with freshly chopped kale which really was superb. The recipe offers the option of adding wine and lemon. I did this and found it really improved overall taste. Here is the ingredients I used which turned out excellently: 5 slices bacon 1 lrg onion carrots 1/2 cup water chkn broth sea salt pepper 1 cup kale 4 red potatos sliced 1 cup butter 1 cup flour 1 pint half-n-half 3/4 wine 1/4 lemon 1 pound left-over salmon Really was an excellent chowder. Thanks for sharing!

Shepherd's Pie Daddy's Way

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Great base recipe but I tend to add to it. Particularly veggies, sometimes bacon, cheese, chives...just use your imagination. Overall, a quick family meal that is pretty good.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Simple and easy. I loved it and only added raw sugar to the top coat sprinkle in addition to brown and regular sugar. Adds a little extra sparkle...otherwise, very nice muffin.

Pineapple Kiwi Jam

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Pretty good recipe and very simple to make. It did not set up well as other reader had suggested and I will probably try bypassing pectin and cook until it reaches jelly stage as well. Also, it is very sweet so I might also add more lime than the recipe calls for. But nice presentation and a good jam for sweet tooths or to accompany dessert.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Fantastic! A new all-time favorite with my family. I only made a few changes per the suggestions of others such as brushing the crust with egg whites. This definitely helped and I also added corn just for fun. Great recipe!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
My husband loved this recipe. It was easy to make and the chicken turned out moist and with a good flavored sauce. I'd recommend soaking chicken first in the sauce as some other reviews have suggested. I'll definitely make this again and maybe try with portabello mushrooms.

Granola Bars III

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Good recipe and super easy to make. I baked this as written and will definitely make again but with some variations as suggested by other reviewers. It was a bit bland otherwise so I definitely recommend adding more but since this recipe is loaded with possibilites, it will be easy to spice up to my family's specifications. I also recommend baking for 20 minutes. Thanks for sharing!

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
As suggested by other reviewers, I used a sauce rather than the dry enchilada mix and added an extra can. I also added chili seasoning to the meat and onions. This definitely added to the overall taste. A quick recipe that definitely made my family asking for seconds.
