Pizza Dough III
Both times I tried using this recipe I had to add about twice the flour it called for, for it to become a "stiff dough" at all. The first time, I made homemade fried strombolis and the consistency of the dough worked out decently, though I was short on dough so had some problems with it tearing. The second time, I made two double batches for two 16-inch crusts, because I worried I'd have tearing problems again. The crust, while very tasty, came out more like bread or rolls instead of the chewy-soft consistency of the pizzas our favorite local pizza place makes. Maybe next time I'll make the two double recipes but will make three pizzas instead of two. Can't seem to find the happy medium between super-thin crust and almost a Chicago-style crust yet.

Vanilla Kifli
I found this recipe here a couple years ago. I was baking cookies for gifts for our family and wanted to find recipes that matched all our different ethnic heritages. My parents are each about 1/2 Hungarian, so my sisters and I are as well, so it was nice to find some Hungarian recipes. These were so melt-in-your-mouth good. Really. I'm thinking of using this recipe for a cookie exchange coming up. The hardest part was coming up with the vanilla sugar. We don't live in an area where it's easy to find ready-made, so I had to find an easy recipe. But the flavor of the cookies is really good!

Fancy Brownies
Yummy! I made these for a covered-dish lunch and they were great. I love the idea of making brownies from cake mix and will be saving that idea for future reference as well. I used halved caramel cups (Wal-Mart brand...Great Value?) and they were delicious. I'll try the Rolos sometime, too. The gooey yumminess inside was a treat. Instead of 35 pieces, I got 24, I guess because I cut them bigger. I did use a little extra time for baking because they didn't seem quite done after the written time. Only downside was that I wasn't able to try them warm with a glass of milk! I'll be doing that today with what's left :) . Terrific recipe!
