About this Cook
Always working on bettering my cooking skills. I am an avid baker, particularly homemade breads.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make bread, quiches, casseroles, etc. I also love to bake desserts and try new appetizers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sipping mimosas while making rib roast and twice baked potatoes for dinner on New Years Eve.
My cooking triumphs
My latest triumphs would be the beef stew i've finally perfected and the homemade bread I make.
My cooking tragedies
I never taste test it as I follow a recipe. I've ruined many a dish because of this! When I was new to my husband's family I messed up a green bean casserole on Thanksgiving. The easy kind, made with Campbells soup. It was so bad they never asked me again to make a side dish. That's ok; I like baking desserts better anyway~!

Fennel Risotto
followed exactly as written--it was fabulous! the fennel was not strong at all and the risotto was rich and creamy. Will definitely make this recipe again!

Butternut Squash Soup II
I made this exactly as written with the exception of cooking the squash in the microwave due to time constraints. I thought it was excellent!

English Muffins
I had great success with this recipe; i used a double burner cast iron griddle i own on the stovetop. they came out beautifully browned with the perfect craggy interior you'd expect from an english muffin.
