Beer Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
The key to this soup is patience! It needs to come to a boil after the corn starch is added, and it will thicken quickly. It is important to boil it slowly and stir constantly to avoid scorching. Another tip: I pureed the soup in a blender after cooling for a velvety smooth texture. I have tried it with milk instead of 1/2 & 1/2, and it is just as delicious!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This soup is creamy and delicious, even when made with canned tomatoes! It is good made with lesser amounts of butter and/or cream, but if you are trying to mimic the taste of the wonderful soup at La Madeleine, make the recipe as stated and do a few extra sit ups! It is an indulgence, but well worth it! Even my children, who do not care for tomatoes, love this soup.

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
WONDERFUL, perfect, fluffy marshmallows! Thank you so much for this great recipe. My kids loved making these. We will be making them for years to come to go with our homemade Christmas hot cocoa! One note: Be sure to follow the recipe carefully and whip until the mixture is very stiff in the last step. I am going to try adding peppermint extract and a little green color next time. :)

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

WOW! This recipe is superb!! I used purchased bacon bits and used a little chopped sun-dried tomatoes for an extra punch, and it is absolutely fabulous! Tastes like eating out and is well worth the effort for an extra-special meal! Thanks for a great recipe!

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
Absolutely delicious. This frosting is light anf fluffy, and a dab adds just the right amount of sweetness to sugar cookies. One note: I used the whisk attachment on my mixer and whipped the icing very well for lightness.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
These cookies are not just good...they are SPECTACULAR. I love my sugar cookie cut-outs, but these are faster, easier, and softer. I can mass-produce these with my 4 kids much better than rolling and cutting! They are light and chewy, and look just beautiful with a dab of frosting and festive sprinkles! Thanks so much!

Quick Chicken And Wine

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Great recipe! I wouldn't consider this one quick, as it took 45 minutes to fry all the chicken strips to a golden brown in my giant skillet. But the result was worth the time. The chicken was moist and flavorful. I served it to my kids before adding wine, but my husband I loved the wine sauce. It did require quite a bit more than 1/2 cup of parmesan, too.

Cara's Creamy Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
Great recipe! 30 minute prep time, and my whole family loved it...including a husband who hates cream cheese and a daughter who won't eat ground meat! I added grated parmesan cheese, oregano, & basil to the filling for a little more flavor. It is definitely a keeper.

Herb, Garlic and Bacon Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Great recipe! My whole family, including children ages 14 months up to 7 years, loved this. It was so moist and tender, unlike many pork loin recipes I've tried. This will become a family favorite!

Koulourakia II

Reviewed: May 2, 2006
YUM! These are very delicate in flavor. Just a hint of spice and not too sweet. I did use an extra egg in the batter by accident, but they were so light and puffy that I would do the same again. I also rolled mine in powdered sugar instead of flour for just a touch more sweetness. My children LOVE these and I didn't expect them to since they are not very sweet. Hint: Bake just until edges are set for light, soft cookies; do not brown.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2006
I tried this recipe with pork chops instead of lamb, and it was fabulous! My entire family loved it. I did make a little more sauce than the recipe called for, using a little flour and more balsamic vinegar. This will become a regular dinner for us!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
Great basic recipe. My family loved these and my kids loved making them. We will make them again, but next time I think we will roll the dough thinner before adding the cinnamon/sugar mixture; they were a little doughy. Icing is great, too!

The cornflakes were soggy/chewy and never did get very crispy. They fall apart and stuck to each other when stored also.

Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies (Cookie Mix)

YUMMY! These are even better than traditional thumbprint cookies from scratch. We also used strawberry jam instead of raspberry on some cookies, and they were just as good.
