Best snickerdoodles ever. These disappear fast each time I make them.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
I made this exactly as the recipe stated except I used graham cracker crumbs for the crust. I did not use a water bath, just left it in the oven for an hour afterwards to cool down - no cracks! Delicious cheesecake, will definitely make again.

These were delicious. I made the recipe as written, but added a tiny bit of vanilla. Will definitely be making again.

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
When I get home from work and am too tired to make anything super involved I turn to this alfredo sauce. In 15 minutes I can cook some noodles and saute some veggies and have a delicious dinner. My only suggestion is to make sure to add the cheese slowly. I spaced once while I was making this and dumped the cheese in all at once and it ended up a bit clumpy.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Fabulous crab soup and very easy to make. We did half crab and half bay scallops. We did reduce the Old Bay by half based on recommendations. My boyfriend thought there was a bit too much celery seed but I thought it was fine. Will definitely be making this one again!

Asparagus and Mushroom Frittata

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
The thyme gives this a great flavor (I also used two cloves of garlic with the veggies, as well as olive oil instead of butter). My only issue was that the pan I used was too big, so even by adding a seventh egg it seemed a bit thin. I may have also used a bit too much asparagus and not cut it short enough. I'd use a smaller pan and just a smidge less asparagus next time. Nice, easy recipe.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
Delicious chocolate cake. I think as is it would make a wonderful loaf cake or layer cake. I made it as cupcakes and it was a little too soft to hold them together. I might reduce the oil a bit if I made this recipe as cupcakes again.

Poppy Seed Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
This is the first recipe on this website that has dissapointed me. I thought it was strange that this recipe suggests you mix the wet ingredients and then add the dry ingredients, since I always do it the opposite way. Maybe they meant to mix the wet in one bowl and the dry in a second bowl and then mix the wet into the dry (which is the way I'd normally make muffins). In any case I think the baking powder started to activate too soon because these muffins never really rised. The batter also looked excessively wet and oily. For my second batch I tried adding more flour and baking powder, but I think it was not salvageable. I do like the addition of almond extract, so I may try the recipe again but I'd significantly decrease the vegetable oil and milk, and mix the ingredients the way I would normally do, not the way the recipe implies.

Caramel Frosting IV

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
What a fabulous caramel frosting recipe! I didn't find it too sweet, even when paired with butterscotch cupcakes. It had a delicious homemade caramel taste to it, without being overpowering. I had to add a bit of extra sugar and use my electric beater to get the perfect texture and consistency. Just one note, I'm famous for not paying attention to the serving size for the recipes on here and the recipe as is was way too much frosting for my little batch of cupcakes, but would have probably been just right if I was frosting a layer cake. I ended up freezing the leftover frosting for a few days and it defrosted fine (taste and texture-wise) for my next batch of cupcakes.

Butterscotch Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I had a small box of butterscotch pudding (not quite 3 ounces, like the recipe suggested) that I wanted to use up so this recipe was perfect. It ended up making about 16 cupcakes. Even with the smaller box of pudding the flavor was delicious. I topped them with some caramel frosting and it made a tasty snack.

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Such a nice, easy recipe! I used cheddar cheese and added mushrooms and fresh spinach. It heated up really well in the microwave. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, I think I will cut the butter (or at least reduce it) from the recipe next time. It was a little bit too rich and oily with it.

Very good cake - the longer you let the milk soak in the better, otherwise cake can start out a little dry.

White Chocolate, Chocolate Cookies

Good recipe. I also added one tsp of salt and one tsp of vanilla. I made the mistake of making the first batch into round balls. You definitely need the flatten the dough or else they end up looking not done.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

These were just okay. They actually tasted a lot like brownies. Nobody asked me to make them again like they do with a lot of the 5 star recipes from this site so I was suprised. I'll try tweaking the recipe a bit next time.

Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
I made two changes to this recipe. Instead of cream of celery I used cream of chicken since that's what I had. I also didn't have the dried soup so I used some breadcrumbs. I thought it turned out okay, if not very flavorful (probably the dried soup gives it more flavor). My boyfriend liked it though so I'll try it again and mix in some more veggies and try the dried soup for flavor.

Baked Dijon Salmon

This was okay. My boyfriend liked it but I didn't finish mine. I thought the mustard flavor would be stronger but it was very faint. I'll try making it again and add more seasoning and maybe buy fresher fish.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
Delicious and simple to make! I didn't have any sherry so I just added a bit more of the marsala wine. I used more mushrooms than the recipe called for and wished I had added even more since my family loves mushrooms. My boyfriend said it tasted just like you would get in the restaurant but less rich so he can't wait for me to make it again.
