Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
This was good, but nothing spectacular. Just like other reviews said- tasted like a pork roast in a slow cooker. Tender and fell off the bone, but pretty bland. I even added the banana on top... :-(

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Super easy AND delicious! I put the brown sugar/cinnamon/butter mixture (from the "Clone of a Cinnabon" recipe) in this when I roll it up. I also sometimes throw in raisins, nuts, dates, or whatever! All my boy's friends just *happen* to stop by when I'm baking and this is one of their favorites.

Braciola I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
So, sooo good! The raisins didn't appeal to me, but I left them in anyway and I'm glad I did. They add a light touch of sweetness to the meat and aren't detectable as raisins. I left this to simmer for 2 hrs. on low and it was so tender. My family LOVED it!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
I have been using this site for years and this is the first recipe that has 5 stars that I have found to be absolutely HORRID! I am an excellent cook, and this turned out bland- even my husband (who never complains) thought it was terrible.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
This is our FAVORITE banana bread now! The others here that have gotten 5 stars pale in comparison. I added 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. rum flavoring and lots of cinnamon. I also added sugar to the grease/flour pans step. This makes a kind of crunchy-type bottom. My boys and I have made 9 loaves (3 big and 6 little) of this yummy bread in 2 days! The neighbors are lovin' our little loaves. :-)

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
Why didn't I make this sooner?!?! My son and husband loved it and it was so easy and fast to prepare. I boiled the chicken with onions, carrots, celery and garlic. I then boiled down the stock to a wonderful rich brown broth and used that instead of the canned broth. We did add light sour cream to the garnishes as well. This is going to be a staple around here now. Next time I'm going to double the recipe and freeze it!

These are absolutely wonderful! My 4 yr. old son and I love to make these together. We surprised Daddy with a big glass of milk and a plate of these when he walked in from work! They are always a hit...

These are so delicious and so easy! I made a big mistake, though... I made them and then tasted them before my company showed up... Needless to say, I had to make more! Delicious!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
I'm afraid I followed other people's recommendations and this turned out to be a huge disappointment... I am a great baker and don't mess recipes up much, but this one was a flop. I think I'll stick to my mom's recipe.

Gluehwein

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
WOWEE! This is good stuff! We had this on Christmas and on New Year's Eve and it was a hit both times. We used merlot and it turned out great. The only thing is that I could never get it to the syrupy stage so we just added the wine after simmering awhile. You won't be disappointed!

THIS is the recipe that I have searched for since I used to work with an award-winning chef! YUMMY! Works well with pita bread, stuffed in a tomato, etc. I wouldn't change a thing...

Baked Pork Chops I

I'm not picky at all, but this seemed a little rich to me. I think if I make it again, I'll use fresh mushrooms and more milk. The breading was really tasty, though...

Yummy! It was almost like a peach-crisp type pie! I did add apple pie spices b/c I ran out of nutmeg and it tasted just as delicious!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2001
WHAT A TREAT! These were super easy to make and my family and friends loved them! I used a little apple pie spice along with the cinnamon and they were absolutely delicious. There was PLENTY of frosting with this recipe, so I wouldn't double it. AND, I'd cut back to about 3/4 cup brown sugar since there was plenty for the filling. I'm going to make them again today!

Choco-coconut Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2001
I really liked these except, I think if I make them again, I would add a little more coconut. I didn't "dip" these as the recipe calls for, I topped them with chocolate as a reviewer suggested. I WOULDN'T do this again since the coconut/condensed milk mixture is a little on the unset side (I even put them in the freezer for awhile) and when topped with chocolate they were messy. SO, follow the recipe but add more coconut than what it says. OH, and I added an almond to the top of each square to make them taste like an almond joy! My husband REALLY liked these! :-)

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2000
You gotta try this recipe! My family loved them! The cookies are delicious~ chewy inside and a little crunchy on the outside! I realized after I started mixing the ingredients that I didn't have any oatmeal, so I used 2 1/2 packets of maple/brown sugar instant oatmeal and I think they turned out even better than the regular!

Banana Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2000
My family loves this bread! It tastes even moister the second day after baking since the flavors have blended. I usually put all the ingredients in the bread pan and help mix them with a spatula while the paddle is going. This way I don't dirty another bowl by pre-mixing. My 2 yr. old loves to help make this!
