Gingered Pork Chops in Orange Juice

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
Excellent recipe! Three changes, didn't use the flour, used sage instead of ginger, and deglazed the pan with Grand Marnier instead of the brandy. Definitely a keeper.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
Wow, this one is a keeper! Try topping the dish with the bacon AFTER plating so that it retains its crunchy texture. I actually added chicken because I'm such a carnivore. ;o)

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Made this for a kid's birthday party and was a huge hit with both kids and adults alike. I put the cinnamon-sugar mixture in a ziploc, sprayed the tortilla pieces with Pam, and then baked on a cookie sheet. Will definitely make again.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
Oh my God! You will love this cookie if you like a cookie whose texture is soft and has just enough sweetness and a little crunch around the edges. Comes out perfect every time. I'm on my third batch now in less than two weeks.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I followed the other suggestions to do half brown and half white sugar and the cookies were kind of flat, but chewy in the center. Definitely better after a few hours rather than right out of the oven.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This recipe is OUTSTANDING! One way to cut down on the calories is to use just 1 tsp of corn syrup and reduce the brown sugar to 3/4 cup. We also used a tad more Grand Marnier! By all means, turn the toast after 20 minutes to get a texture on the bottom and why not broil for the last few seconds to allow the sugars to carmelize?? These few altercations still yielded a deliciously sweet french toast which needed no additional syrup. Try this one this weekend!

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
The blue cheese in this dish absolutley overpowered the chicken. My guests ate it, but no one asked for more. Perhaps halving the cheese would make a difference.

Apple Bavarian Torte

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
This dessert is awesome! I followed another's advice and used canned pears instead of the apples, and I doubled the filling. One other change is that i used 1.5X the crust. Delicious! Everyone loved it. One problem that I ran into is the cooking time. At the end of the 25 minutes, mine was still quite jiggly in the middle. I ended up doubling the time the pie had to bake, perhaps because of the increased mass. Definitely try this one, you won't be disappointed.

I must have done something wrong because this ice cream was the chocolate-iest ever and much too overpowering.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
This is a very good recipe, but I changed two things... double the amount of vanilla (too bland without it) and a pinch of salt.

Grilled Salmon with Habanero-Lime Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
very good. The salmon needs to be marinated longer to really retain the flavor though. Also, I only added about half the recommended amount of habanero peppers because I was afraid it would be too spicy. Turned out great.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
This is the perfect recipe for apple crisp. I would recommend doubling the crumb topping if you like a big crunch. I also added even more oatmeal.
