Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Almost all of the "impossibley easy" bisquick recipes are hard to beat. Quick, tasty and good. When you are pressed for time, these are great. I always mix up the liquid ingredients in the blender, or use your hand blender.

Impossibly Easy Taco Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I love the "impossible" recipes from Bisquick! I usually put the bisquick, eggs and milk in the blender, then pour it over the filling. Very quick, tasty and easy recipe for sure.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This is very much like my childhood mac and cheese also. Only thing my mom did differently was to beat an egg in with the milk and we shredded the cheese. Very basic mac and cheese, let the top cheese layer (we add extra) bake to a golden crust.....yum.

Oh, this is so good. I love, love, love, anything with sesame oil in it and this is going to be a favorite and always in the fridge in this household!

Mom's Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
If you use fresh brussels sprouts, and cut them into 1/4's and stir fry them in a little olive oil (or your preferred oil)instead of boiling then continue with the rest of the recipe instructions, it's even better.

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

As a previous reviewer said, if you don't like bleu cheese, use feta cheese; very yummy. Great recipe.

Ramen Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I liked the ease and simplicity of this recipe. Like others, I tossed the packet that comes with the ramen noodles as it is loaded with salt. I also figured that the reason there was no amount to the sesame oil, is that you can drizzle it into each serving to personal taste, and your own preference to spicy sesame oil or regular. Very simple and good.

Divine Summertime Chicken Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
If you use a good sturdy bread, a good whole grain, or a good sourdough, you can make it panini style..I suggest using fresh spinach leaves in place of the lettuce if you do make it a panini. Or maybe Kale, as it is sturdier than lettuce and can take the heat. I have a cast iron panini press, but I have also used my George Forman grill to make panini's.

I use this same method, only I use light flavored or regular olive oil, depending on your preference.

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Is there another name for "flat iron" steak? I'm having trouble finding the right cut. I have used this with other steak, and it is good, but would like to try the authentic recipe.

Grits With Parmesan and Prosciutto

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I loved this recipe. I also love grits, and think that most people who "hate" them have never tried them when questioned! I subbed canadian bacon for the prosciutto and it was good. But is outstanding with the prosciutto. Pancetta (italian bacon) makes it very special also. When losing weight, it never hurts to splurge a little and make yourself feel special!

Awesome caesar salad! Still good w/o the anchovies, but I use them and nobody seems to notice as long as I don't tell them they are in there!

Potato Soup VI

Exactly the way my mom made potato soup when I was growing up...before the days of adding bacon, cheese, etc. I was thrilled when she made it! HA! Simple is usually best. Definitely use russet potatoes and not red.

Cube Steak Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
A great way to use cube steak; I used my own homemade spaghetti/marinara sauce in place of the plain tomato sauce. Very, very good recipe. Served with big green salad and crusty french bread and fruit for dessert. Yum!

I have also used the "bacon basting" on our Thanksgiving turkey....yum yum! Makes for a very moist bird. This made our chicken just as tasty and moist. Thanks for sharing!
