Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
I used real maple syrup instead of the flavoring, delicious. Be sure to use REAL maple syrup and not the imitation stuff.

Boo hoo, our San Diego Spaghetti factory closed last year....glad for the recipe! Mzithra cheese is fairly easy to find if you look in stores that have a good deli/cheese department. Got mine at the local natural foods store.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Love these cookies. They are a nice, chewy, cookie and the melted chocolate mint(I used Andes creme de menthe) on top makes them delicious. Simply yummy & addictive!

Hot Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
It is a real head scratcher to me when someone absolutely HATES an ingredient, i.e., bleu cheese, and then gives the recipe a poor rating????!!!! For bleu cheese lovers, this is a good salad.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
As another reviewer, I used more chicken broth than called for, and I used leftover turkey from the Thanksgiving bird, adding towards the end of cooking time. Delicious.

Green Bean and Portobello Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
Try making your own cream sauce with finely chopped mushrooms added to avoid the MSG in the canned soup. I have done it this way and it tastes just as good!

A wonderful, traditional cherry pie recipe. A classic. The almond extract makes all the difference.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
I used all chicken broth (part homemade & part store bought broth in the box) Used fresh basil and fresh oregano from my garden and threw in some dried herbes de provence(an incredibly versatile herb mixture)Sauteed the sliced carrots with the onion and celery. Made the recipe for 8 and that made generous servings for 6 people. Everyone had 2 bowls. Delicious. Served with big green salad, rolls, fresh fruit and brownies for dessert.

When you are pinched for time, try the "microwave peanut brittle" on this site....it is so easy, particularly when you are pressed for time. No standing over a hot pot...just in front of the microwave!!!

Microwave Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
This is a wonderful, easy recipe. No standing over a hot pot stirring and waiting for the right "stages"; this is my preferred way of making brittle; I have substituted a can of deluxe mixed nuts or almonds, or macadamias, or whatever nut you prefer. Folks think you slaved over it!!!

Broccoflower®, Cranberry and Almond Salad

This is a wonderful twist on broccoli salad. Stores are carrying the broccoflower more and more along with other variations of cauliflower. Beautiful to look at and quite tasty. (You can add crumbled bacon if you like, I do.

Healthy Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
I used 1 lb. of lean ground turkey and doubled the rest of the ingrediants. It took about 50 minutes to cook and I also added fresh basil leaves to the top of the loaf about 3/4 of the way through cooking and a some sliced roma tomatos at the same time, made it look good plus the fresh basil tasted good too. As recipe said, I added lemon pepper to taste and this loaf is healthy and tasty. A winner.
