Slow Cooker Lemon Pepper Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2014
Very good; I ran my chicken under the broiler a bit to brown the skin, just for appearance sake on the platter....excellent flavor.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
Yep, I've tried this soup....it's a close replica of the Zuppa Toscana soup that is served at Olive Garden. I have also made it with kale instead of spinach...kale being how the restaurant makes it

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
I think for this to be more like a "chicken pot pie" (yes, I know it says stew....the addition of some crust type topping at the last 30 of cooking would be nice, even using biscuits to top or serve over.

Simple Ranch Chicken Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
I have made a similar salad like this for many years, except I have used 1 can of tuna, drained, and added about 2 Tbs. of finely chopped green bell pepper. It was something my husband grew up with and we adopted into our family....very nice on a hot day.....I think chicken works great too.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
I have been doing meatloaf in the slow cooker for many years now....it truly is wonderful, moist & tasty. Turkey loaf is great too. If you have an issue with removing it from the cooker, just make two double strips of aluminum foil (or 3) and put them in the pot first, leaving enough foil to hang out of the cooker to help remove it to your platter.

Easy Chicken Taquitos

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2013
I used leftover chicken from cooked chicken breasts, or you could use rotiserrie chicken.....that would give it much more flavor than the canned chicken.

Cornucopia Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
Ever since the first time I made this, it has become a family favorite for every holiday meal. I have added some romaine lettuce at times for more crunch.

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
Yes, making them in the oven on a baking sheet & rack, especially when you have several to make is a brilliant idea....they don't get soggy as they can in a skillet.

Praline Cinnamon Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Broiling results in what you see in the picture....burnt chips. Baking is much better...spray with cooking spray or brush with oil.

Brussels Sprouts ala Angela

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
I think when we were younger, nobody liked brussels sprouts because they were nearly always boiled to death, and really weren't good. I learned years ago to saute them, roast them, etc. and they are wonderful. Introduced the fresh sprouts to my kids when they were small and they all love them. This recipe is a great way to introduce someone to brussels sprouts that claims they "hate them".

Blue Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
If you can find it, try smoked bleu cheese....delish. I wouldn't use bleu cheese dressing as others suggest....a vinaigrette would not interfere with the bleu cheese, or overpower.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
Don't understand the reviewers who lowered the heat and "covered" the dish?? That just makes for steamed cauliflower without the wonderful carmelizing of roasting vegetables. :-/

Slow Cooker Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
The thing is it only takes about 10 min. to cook a pot of cranberries....and then set it aside to cool. I just don't see this as very practical, as instead of a dirty crock pot to deal with, I just have one pan to wash and then pour the sauce into my serving dish, chill, and forget about it until serving time. sorry!

Cinnamon Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
This was a great snack in our house growing up; as others have posted, our mother would run it under the broiler before serving, caramelized the sugar a bit....my job was to keep watch so it didn't burn! :-) Thanks for the memories! (I, too, haved passed this treat on to my grandchildren)

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
I have made this for years and years (I think I found it in a Taste of Home magazine) It is delicious. DO NOT leave out the almond extract, it won't be the same w/o it. Trust me. Please. :-)

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
This really is an easy and delicious way to make spanish rice; I've made it this way for years. You can use all different sorts of salsas....tomatillo salsa (green) makes it very tasty and different from your run of the mill salsas. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Slow Cooker Bananas Foster

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
Regarding the bananas turning to mush: get slightly green bananas....don't get already ripe fruit, it definitely makes a difference. Just common sense. Actually, I think it would be better to make the sauce, then add the bananas at the last 15 minutes or so...
