Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
I made this recipe twice and as written, I give the recipe 3.5-4 stars. It's a good starting point but the taste leaves me wanting more flavor. I modified the soup to increase the garlic to 6 cloves and I also added about 1 tsp of dried basil (alone) and about 2 tsp of Italian seasoning mix (blend of dried basil, oregano, rosemary, marjoram, cilantro, thyme, red pepper flakes). My family and friends loved the soup and I will definitely make the modified version again!

Black Halloween Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This punch is great for Halloween parties! I doubled the recipe but only used 3 cups sugar. I also used about 3 liters ginger ale. And since this was Halloween, I placed gummy worms inside latex gloves (inside the fingers whole and a bunch in the palm) and froze Hawaiian Punch around the worms. It came out looking like red, wormy hands. It looked very cool when the hand were melting!

Hamburgers by Eddie

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
These were a hit at my family's Friday night dinner! I made these twice. First I made the recipe as-is. The second time I added chopped onion and about 2 TB Worcester sauce. It's so simple and tasty.

Irish Cream Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This recipe is definitely worth keeping around! Similar to other reviewers, I didn't have Irish Cream on hand so I used Frangelico - Hazelnut Liqueur and I was not disappointed. Other than using the different flavoring, I followed the recipe to a T and the crème brulee came out light, creamy, and delicious!Even my dinner guests that don't normally like crème brulee couldn't stop eating it (one practically licked the ramekin clean!). Just a note for first timers, when done mixing the ingredients together, the "custard" is more liquid than thick.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This bisque is devine! I made this 5 times so far and plan to make it again this Friday! I made a couple modifications as others suggested: I split + roasted the squash on 350 for about 50 min to get the flesh soft and also added 1 golden apple. The last time I made it I forgot to add the cream but it didn't matter, it was just as good without it! Oh, and the second time I made the soup I used precut squash from Costco (as someone suggested). That was a bad idea! The precut squash lost the majority of its flavor which made my soup bland.

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
I baked on 350 as others suggested and the muffins look fine. I found the flavor to be really bland so as written, I give this recipe three stars. I made a second batch with orange marmalade and used orange juice instead of milk, added 1 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp lemon extract, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. I still baked them on 350 for 25 min, then broiled to get them brown at the top. The second batch was tastey!
