Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2003
Perfect. I baked mine for 9 minutes instead of the recommended 6-8 because I like a crispier cookie. Wonderful taste and texture.

Daniel's Favorite Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
This was a good cheesecake. Maybe a little bit dry, not as creamy as I would prefer. Good taste though and good enough when you need a cheesecake fix! Also, this was very easy to make. Didn't need the springform pan and didn't need to mess with a water bath (which always gets me into trouble).

Betsy's Mandarin Orange Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
VERY, VERY good. I didn't use a red onion because I don't care for raw onion in my salads. I used probably twice the amount of almonds than were called for because I love slivered almonds. Dressing was delicious!

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
EXCELLENT. Everything I was looking for in a biscuit -- taste, texture, ease of preparation. This is going into my personal cookbook and staying there! Thank you for the recipe.

Mouth Watering Medley

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
This was VERY GOOD. I halved the recipe since there were only two of us, and we ate two-thirds of that and are saving the rest for tomorrow! I think the only change I'll make for next time is to maybe use an extra egg or two to give it more of an "eggy" effect. Yummy!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2003
This was my first shot ever at homemade lemon meringue pie and it turned out pretty good. I didn't have fresh lemons so I used 1/2 cup lemon juice. I really enjoy the contrast of the tartness with the sweet meringue, but for those of you who don't like it so tart, I would suggest cutting down on the lemon juice. I also added some yellow food coloring to the lemony part because a reviewer had said that the color was almost opaque and I thought that would be odd. Overall, pretty easy to make and very good. Will make again from time to time.

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2003
SO DELICIOUS. I had lamb chops for the first time four months ago and I really didn't care for them, so I was hesitant to try this recipe, but my husband loves lamb, so I went for it. I must say...this is a MOST SUCCULENT lamb dish. So good! I gave it four stars only because I cooked it at 325 degrees for about two and a half hours and it still came out nice and done on the outside (I like my lamb well done). I think cooking it at 450 degrees would have burned it too much. I will be using this recipe for years to come. Thank you.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2003
EXCELLENT! I used butter-flavored shortening and it came out perfectly. Dried on the cookies just right so I could stack them. Tasted delicious!

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2003
I ended up with a clumpy mess. The parmesan would not melt. We still ate it, and it tasted good, but the consistency was more like a stuffing that you might use for a mushroom or shrimpt. I followed the directions to a "T". Could someone maybe tell me what I might have done wrong to make it come out like this?

Chocolate Gravy II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2003
This turned out really good. It's kind of like a thin version of chocolate pudding. I did have trouble on the first batch...When you put the flour and cocoa in with the butter it burns before it has a chance to thicken into a paste. So, I had to start over and as soon as I combined the flour and cocoa I added the milk and sugar and it came out great. My husband didn't care for this as he couldn't get over the idea of having chocolate for breakfast (his problem). I saved the leftovers and will eat it cold later with whipped cream. Great taste.

Jailhouse Rocks

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2003
I really didn't care for these cookies. It almost seemed like there was something missing in them. They were crispy, which was good, but this was the first time I only used half the batter in a cookie recipe and threw away the rest. I just didn't enjoy how they were coming out.

Rocky Mountain Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2003
This was absolutely delicious. I did make a couple changes: I didn't have any peas so I left those out, and I used a regular onion instead of the pearl onions. I also had no Worcestershire sauce so I used a popular name-brand steak sauce. All in all, we very much enjoyed it and I will be making it (my way) again!

Very tasty. May have preferred using sliced potatoes instead of tater tots.

Kristi's Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2002
We LOVED this. I halved the recipe since there's only my husband and I, and there was still plenty to fill a 9x13 pan. I did add about 1/2 cup water because of the other reviews and it was SPLENDID. I used the water that I boiled the chicken in. Marvelous, subtle chicken flavor, and celery and mushrooms made a great addition. (I didn't have paprika so I sprinkled parsley on top instead.)

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

These biscuits are absolutely terrific!! They are the BEST biscuits I've tasted, and it's definitely worth the effort of doing just a bit more than opening a Pillsbury can. :-) They came out GREAT on my first try.

Simply DELICIOUS! It tastes like a Chicken Risotto I once had at a fancy Italian restaurant. Plenty for leftovers too! YUM!
