Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2014
I saw this recipe in the most recent Allrecipes magazine and decided to give it a go for a little something different. I did follow the suggestions in the magazine to double the sauce, which is a must if serving over rice in my opinion. Plus, I added a red bell pepper. This is a great recipe and versatile if you want to take out veggies or add others. The only ingredient I did not use was the extra salt b/c it seemed unnecessary when I tasted the sauce. There is a lot of flavor components and salt already in the other ingredients so I just wouldn't include it. Overall a good recipe. My husband loved the spicy kick.

Easy Chocolate Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
This is a good easy moist cake, but it has little to no banana taste. I followed the directions for the most part, except I did sub plain greek yogurt for the sour cream because I had it on hand and I used two ripe bananas based on the reviews that said it was lacking much banana taste. It has a really good chocolate flavor and stays moist for days which is a plus. I'd make it again but not with the expectation of a strong banana flavor.

Cheater Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Easy weekday dinner. My family loves pasta so when I found this recipe, I knew we needed to try it. Can't praise this recipe enough for ease - few ingredients, quick prep, and great flavor. The only change made was using the mild italian sausage just to cut back on it being too spicy. I loved being able to make this and have dinner ready in under 40 minutes tops. Bonus - the leftovers are even better b/c the flavors really meld together.

Buttermilk Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
The greatest part about these muffins is the endless possibilities. This is a great basic recipe which is good on its own, but can be tinkered with in many ways to make so many kinds of muffins. I have added a tsp of cinnamon to mine b/c my family loves it, but I can imagine this recipe would be good with fruits too (apple, blueberries, banana even). Thanks for a delicious, useful recipe.

Apple Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This is an excellent recipe. I did not find that spices were needed in the muffin mixture itself. The batter had a good flavor on its own if you use solid tasting apples. One change to the recipe I made was not using melted butter in the streusel topping. I just used cold butter and created a meal like topping which did not collapse into the muffin as happened with my first attempt at these muffins.

Beef Nacho Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
This is a great easy recipe that is pleasing to adults and kids. I make this when my family wants a change from tacos or burritos, and it is always a hit. Even the leftovers get eaten. The only changes I made were using taco seasoning instead of chili powder and sour cream in place of the mayo (my family does not eat mayo). Great find on this site for an easy meal.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
These cookies are fanatastic. They stay moist and wonderful after baking. My husband loves the taste. I have made with or without nuts. I tend to like the texture the nuts give the cookies. This is a great way to use up ripe bananas besides making a bread.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
These cookies are great and a perfect way to use bulk bags of M&Ms. My husband and daughter loved them. Made according to the recipe except dropped by tablespoons rather than teaspoons which yielded 3 dozen cookies. We all like bigger cookies. Cook time was 10-12 minutes for soft cookies depending on pan used. ***Update: These cookies stay moist in air tight container for about 3 days. After that they get a little dry so share with others if you don't want that to happen.

Apple Hermits

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This is a wonderful recipe especially for fall when apples are in season. I followed the recipe exactly as written using golden delicious apples ( my favorite baking apple). Instead of cookies though I baked as bars at the same temperature for about 30-35 minutes. They came out fantastic. I didn't get a chance to put on the glaze because my husband had already started eating the bars with such zeal. This is a winner recipe without alterations.
