Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
I have tried many biscuit recipes and this is the best. They were all my family talked about at breakfast! I have a large family so I had to double the recipe. I didn't have buttermilk but I did use buttermilk powder, it works out to be the same. Turned out with a nice crust and tender in the middle. Since I doubled the recipe, they baked for about 25 minutes. Yummy!!

Double Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
I have to say that I was skeptical about this recipe, but I was mistaken! Very easy, very tasty. My family loved these dinner rolls. From the reviews, I thought they would turn out like a biscuit. They were light and fluffy. Dough is thinner than what I am used to, but do not let that discourage you. I doubled the recipe, worked fine. I made the dough a few hours before dinner, I let it rise for 20 min, then stuck in fridge. (it continued to raise in fridge). 30 min. before dinner, I stuck dough in muffin tins (sprayed with pam). Put in oven and poof, they came out beautiful. I will make these often.

Yeast Raised Christmas Waffles

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
I have tried other waffle recipes from this site and this by far is the best. Nice crunchy outside, soft in the middle. The first time I tried this I followed the recipe...excellent. The 2nd time I tried it I didn't have the time or all of the ingredients...turned out great also..here is what I did the 2nd time. I didn't have time to whip the whites, so I just added them whole. I also ran out of vanilla, so I used immitation rum extract. It gave the waffles an awesome flavor. Also for the milk, I always use non-fat milk, so I added the sugar to the warm milk then sprinkled the yeast. It frothed up better that way. Kids thought these were the cream of the crop. Oh..I also had my waffle iron on 6 (hottest setting). Happy waffle making!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
I thought the cookie was just ok. They were soft like they were supposed to be, but just not the flavor I personally was looking for. I will use my recipe until a better one comes around.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2007
I was looking for something easy to make for my kids for an afternoon treat. It is 101 degrees outside so I didn't want to turn my oven on. I came accross this recipe and boy am I glad I did. I made it exactly as written and it came out great! I did use dutch processed cocoa, because that is all I use, and it made the cookie have a deeper choc. flavor. Even my son, who HATES oats, ate them! This is a keeper!

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
Love, love, love this recipe! The first thing I did was drain the can of fruit cocktail while I was mixing the pudding & the pineapple. I even went as far as taking a paper towel and dabbing the top of the fruit cocktail just to make sure all the moisture is gone. I did not add the bananas, but next I might. Great recipe!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
This was a good recipe. My son, who is the pickiest of all eaters, ate it! I did just like most people. I seasoned the pork chops with salt/pepper/garlic then flour/egg/bread crumbs, fried until browned then put in the oven. I also doubled the recipe for gravy and added a bit more seasoning to that for my families taste. A keeper! UPDATE: I put the meat into the crockpot after I browned it, added 2 cans soup mix, 1 c. milk, 2/3 c. wine. This made the best quick (after football practice) gravy...just add mashed potatoes and a veggie...yummmmm!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
Easy, Easy, great tasting sauce. I did not add the parmesan cheese (didn't have any), and I only used 1 tbl. of honey, but I did add the achovy paste. It soo makes a difference. It does not taste fishy at all. Please try this recipe, you wont be disappointed! This is a keeper!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
This is a great pizza dough recipe. I added some chopped rosematy to the dough to give it a little extra flavor; however, it would be great with out it. I too added the sugar, water, and yeast together first. I also let the dough rise a bit while I chopped my veggies. I did not bake the dough as others have. I did not find it needed to be pre-baked because I like my dough soft. We had a great family night by everyone making their own pizzas. I made two batches for 3 adults and 2 kids since we are big pizza eaters! This is a keeper!

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
This is a great chicken salad. I made this for 140 people and they all loved it! The only think I did was omit the green bell pepper and I lightly toasted the pecans. Simply wonderful. The cranberries were a perfect addition for the holidays. I generally can't stand fruit in main dishes, but this was amazing. My husband and child even ate it!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
I have to say that I am a skeptic about hamburger recipes. I have had the belief that a hamburger is a hamburger. Well, I was wrong! This is a great base for a hamburger! Very juicy! I used fresh bread crumbs, egg yolk, worchestershire, 1/2 tsp. of liquid smoke and I grated about 3/4 of a large onion, evaporated milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder....yumm, yumm. It was great. I would have never thought these simple additions would make such a great hamburger. I even used my indoor grill. Just don't use the extra lean ground beef. That always makes a dry burger.

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
Great recipe! I thought I had all the ingredients but my son had used ketchup earlier in the day, yikes! 1st, I seasoned porkchops with salt/pepr/garlic/onion powder, then I browned them in a skillet. I ended up only using 1 1/2 c. ketchup and then I used 1/2 can of beer (drank the rest!)I cut back on brown sugar to fit recipe. These came out great, family loved them and wants me to make them again!

Peanut Butter Balls II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
I make these for Halloween. I make them into eyeballs. Instead of chocolate, I use white chocolate. By the time I am done dipping all of them, they're pretty much set so I can start making the veins of the eyeball with the frosting gells (you can buy in grocery stores)...everyone loves them, makes great effect for party!

I have been looking for this exact cookie! Very Tender, buttery...yummy! I used homemade pear jam for center, came out great. I did however add 1/2 tsp. of salt to boost flavor. Great recipe!

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
I LOVED this cookie. I was sceptical at first....but let me tell you! My family could not get enough of them. Even my very picky child ate them! Soft and chewy. Be sure to time them correctly if you want your cookies to be soft. If you like them a bit crunchier, just leave them in the oven longer. Great flavor. This is a definite part of my recipe book. Thanks for the recipe!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
Love it, love it! I never thought broccoli could taste so good! This is a new family favorite. With this recipe you can add or take away any ingredient that you don't want. Coming from a raisin hater.. TRY it with the raisins, gives it a great unexpected flavor!! Great pantry salad...you can use cider vinegar, red wine, rice wine, white wine vinegar...you really can't hurt this salad. I ALWAYS double or triple recipe!
