Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
You don't need to hesitate just because this says "slow cooker" stuffing. It is truly one of the best stuffing recipes we have ever used. Plus it frees up the oven. Everyone loved it. It was gone before the potatoes and gravy -- and that says something because our family LOVES potatoes and gravy.

The Supreme Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Excellent recipe for Shepherd's Pie. I used leftover pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy and the family slicked it right up.

Stovetop Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I can't keep my husband out of the granola! Holy cow! This was so easy and is absolutely delicious. I think next time I would cut back a bit on the butter but for eating it by the handful? Delicious!!!!! I added dried cranberries, sliced almonds, coconut and sunflower seeds. Will definitely make again -- well, I'll have to and hubby will have eaten it nearly all by himself. Oh, and I doubled it. Worked out well. I just have to add that it cracks me up when I read, "I only gave this 3 stars because of the changes I made to it." It's a shame the overall rating gets lowered because someone changes it and then gives it a bad rating.

Meatball Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Very good stew. It didn't have quite the flavor I wanted so instead of using flour to thicken, I used a package of beef gravy mix. It was just what it needed.

Crunchy Crab Salad

I have not made this salad about 10 times and each time we have to comment on how it's our very favorite crab salad. The flavors are all so awesome together. Thanks for this great recipe.

French Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
These are the "go with everything" muffin. I usually bake them exactly as the recipe indicates but have been known to add lemon or orange zest too. They are excellent!

German Pancakes II

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
I have made this recipe for years but I use 8 eggs and I use 3/4 of a cube of unsalted butter. Another way to make it is to snip 1/2 lb. of bacon into the bottom of your baking dish, put it in the 350 degree oven and cook it to your desired state of doneness. Then pour over the egg mixture and bake. Very good as well.

Grandma's Corn Pudding

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I've been looking for a recipe for corn pudding that sounded like the one my grandmother used. When I saw this I hoped it was it -- and it was! This is delicious. Give it a try.

Peanut Butter Cocoa No-Bake Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
Excellent recipe. I had lost my recipe and when I came looking for another, I decided to try this one. Really good. If you think it looks a little thin you can always add a touch of powdered sugar to thicken it. ALWAYS use butter.

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
This was excellent. I doubled the recipe because it was for a party added 2 tsp. paprika and 1 tsp. lemon juice. I ended up having to add a little honey to cut the bitter from the lemon. I don't think I'd add lemon juice at all next time.

Almond Maple Granola

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
This was really good. I made it exactly as it said. I think next time though, I will put in less coconut and more oatmeal and nuts. As someone else suggested, I used flaxseed and it turned out really good. Thanks for the recipe.

Light Oat Bread

I made the dough in my breadmaker and then rolled it out, sliced it for breadstix, rolled in butter, sprinkled with Italian seasonings and made delicious breadstix. Wonderful recipe. Thanks!

Lemon Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This was delicious. I sauted chicken breast chunks with fresh mushrooms in a little olive oil and added it to the sauce (after draining it really good). I also stirred in 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese to thicken it a little more. Delicious!

Mom's Zucchini Pie

Excellent! I used Colby/Cheddar shredded blend and about 1/4 cup Parmesan. It was delicious. We really enjoyed it. Using the crescent roll dough made a very good crust. We'll definitely have it again and again -- Thanks, Mrs. Walter!

Peach Cobbler V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
Delicious! I made the changes in the flour, split the sugar (1/2 brown 1/2 white) and added cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger to the dough mix. We had this for our Christmas party this year and the family absolutely loved it. I can't wait to try it with other fillings. (Oh, I used no salt butter.)

Cranberry Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This is a delicious pudding cake. My recipe calls for an additional 1/2 cup light karo syrup and no salt at all. But other than that it is the same recipe. Don't hesitate to try it. It's really quite delicious!

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
This soup was yummy. The next time I made it I had a little bit of salmon left over from dinner and thought that with the dill it might be really good -- and guess what? IT WAS! I'm not usually crazy about any type of soup with fish in it but this, along with the dill, was delicious. I only had about 1/3 cup of salmon and that was just the right amount.
