Taste of Home's Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
24 muffins gone in a flash! This moist, dense muffin is glorious indeed. Now my teen son has asked me to make this in a bundt cake pan to save him the trouble of unwrapping each muffin. That way he figures he can eat three at once.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
My guests last night were so impressed with this wonderful treat. Totally easy and foolproof! I actually dipped two pounds of strawberries with one standard size bag of chocolate chips, and still had a little chocolate left over.

Buffalo Chicken Wings I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
I had a bet with my teenaged son that I could make better wings than Domino's pizza, and after comparing a copycat recipe on the web, found that this is pretty much what ingredients they use. Of course, now that I won the bet I'll be making these forever!! At least we'll be saving tons of $$. Fabulous recipe that is almost foolproof too.

Chocolate Nut Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2001
I took this to a family picnic last weekend and even the cousin who "never eats dessert" had two pieces and demanded the recipe. Next week I'm making it again for my mom to take to a gathering. For a dessert that sounds heavy, it's lovely and light. Kay, thanks for the perfect dessert recipe!

Chocolate Mint Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2001
Tastes like a rich "Texas sheet cake" brownie with a subtle touch of creamy mint. These brownies are worthy as a present themselves; I baked these as a birthday gift.

Cream of Coconut Cake

This is a five-star recipe, folks. Some cakes are good, but this one is legendary. Not only fool-proof but indescribably delicious. Thanks, Corinne!!!

Basic Yummy Stuffing

Tastes even better the second day! This also freezes well, and we make a double batch the night before Thanksgiving so that we have some for Christmas Dinner. Wonderful recipe!

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2001
Remember to drain the fish on paper bags for the best crunch! This is a family favorite at my house. I cut amount of the paprika in half and replace the other portion with Old Bay (seafood) seasoning. You can make the batter ahead so you have one less thing to do when you get home from work.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2001
If you want a memorable cake for an occasion, this is the one to make. Even people who swear they only want a sliver come back for a hunk of this stuff. One caveat--I had a tough time getting it out of the pans, as the recipe just asks to grease pans. I'll use parchment next time.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2000
This is an awesome breakfast bread that I enjoyed at a bed and breakfast. I was too bashful to ask for the recipe, and am thankful to you for offering it.

Instant Russian Tea

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2000
I'm making this to give to all my sons' teachers for Christmas. I love the way this recipe is presented in quantity, with instructions for the gift tag. My mom, a retired teacher, received this as a gift from one of her former students and really enjoyed it.

Applesauce Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2000
This one's a keeper! I added a 1/4 tsp. nutmeg and a dash of allspice, and had great results. This is a recipe you can mix up while you're doing ten other things because it's so foolproof. Case in point--I added the ingredients in a different order (forgot to cream the sugar with the oil and eggs) and it turned out perfectly anyway. One note: my oven is not overly hot, but I didn't need 80 minutes to bake, only 60.
