About this Cook
My name is Marissa. The first thing I ever cooked was a can of chicken noodle soup and I turned on the wrong burner. It sat there for an hour not getting warm before I finally ate it and asked what I did wrong. Since then, I've loved to make food. I now live with my fiance who is a very picky eater and I'm getting sick of eating the same things. I'm using all recipes to help me find new things that I hope he enjoys.
My favorite things to cook
Dinners and desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
Buckeyes at Christmas time. You're not from Ohio unless you have buckeyes. And from experience with an aunt moving to MI, if you leave Ohio you forget how to make them the right way.
My cooking triumphs
Making a cake for my fiance family and everyone loving it. Making enchiladas and my finace actually loving them!
My cooking tragedies
First time I ever made dinner for my boyfriend, he asked me to make home made fried chicken, something I had never done before. So I asked my mom and looked through the cookbooks and attempted to make it with home-made red skin mashed potatoes (another first). The chicken looked like fried rats and I didn't let the potatoes cook long enough....he ate it all and said he loved it, that's one reason I'm marrying him :)

Jam Thumbprints
I made them for a chruch dinner and everyone loved them! Makes a good amount of cookies and taste best if instead of adding in walnuts, when their done roll them in powder sugar than put starwberry jam on them and serve. The best cookies I ever made. (Don't add salt taste best without)
