World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I love this lasagna. But, equally important, I love the sauce. The sauce for this has become my go-to pasta sauce. If making something other than lasagna, I just add a little more water to thin it out a bit. Not just the world's best lasagna, but also the world's best pasta sauce. Thanks John!

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This is a wonderful soup. However, I cannot imagine using regular chicken broth with it...WAAAY too much sodium. Use low-sodium chicken broth and you'll be much happier. Also, I'll probably use a second can of corn next time. Oh and pepper, a little extra pepper ads extra flavor. But overall this is a 5 star soup!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Very very good. I used 2 cloves of garlic, just because we liked it. If you are like me and only making two boneless, skinless breasts, you can probably only make half as much sauce (will do that time). The breasts seemed to be done after about 20mins on 375, but I let it go an extra 20mins to get a good carmelization on the chicken.

Denise's Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
My girlfriend said it best, 'you can tell this was thrown together over time.' It's true. This is not a very 'ethnic' dish and really isn't that special. Even if you double the sauce, there still isn't much going on. On a similar note, it's not a 5 star or 4 star recipe if you have to read the reviews and make all kinds of corrections to make it passable. I'd stay away from this one and try something else.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
This is a great recipes, however most cans of garbanzo beans come with just under two cups of beans. Therefore you probably want to roll back on the other ingredients just a bit. Also, the suggestion about reserving the bean liquid to thin out the hummus is a great one. If you do not thin it out, it will be very thick and chunky. I've made this a few times and love it a lot. Adding half a roasted red pepper and a bit extra garlic made a very nice twist. As will roasted egg plant!

Garden Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
This salsa is a lot like some expensive salsas made by a local mexican place and sold in local stores. Very very good. I'd suggest that you let it sit a day before you eat it to give all the flavors time to mature.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2006
This is pretty darn good. I added just a tad more backing soda than it asked for and as a result mine were much thicker and not as flat. It also seemed like I had to cook them for longer than the suggested 15-17mins. These aren't bad but I'm betting there is a better recipe out there.

Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2006
This was really good and really easy. I only used 4 chicken breasts instead of 8 (they were big ones) and used broccoli instead of mushrooms. While this is very tasty and we WILL have it again, you should take note of how much salt is has. We were still drinking water well into the evening. IT's good, but beware!

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
Oh boy this is a good one. Might want a tad more sauce for 'basting' though. Also, we made with Red, Yellow and Green Peppers and that gives it a bit of a different flavor. We'll be having this one again for sure!

Authentic Thai Cashew Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
Wow. I completely agree with the reviewer who said this isn't Cashew Chicken but a chicken stir fry. This is not authentic Thai food and it's only passable stir fry. I also followed recipe to the letter and the numerous suggestions on here including: doubling the sauce, adding peanut butter, lemon juice, etc. While not that bad, I'm certainly not going to make it again.

Belle and Chron's Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
If you are like me and reading these comments after 35mins of cooking has yielded a liquid based quiche, you can follow the reviews notes below and simply drop the temp in your oven down to 200 degrees and let it cook on a low heat for about 40mins. That saved the say. In the future, I’ll scale back the ingredients…less cream for sure. Otherwise it’s pretty darn good. I will make it again now that I know how to modify it.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
Me, being the idiot that I am sometimes, forgot to put bacon on the chicken. For the record, it's still VERY VERY good. I guess if you wanted to make it a little healthier you can forget the bacon and still have a good meal!

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
This is a great recipe. However, the next time I make it, I'm going to add some potatoes, peas, and other goodies. There is a lot of sauce that is just begging for more stuff. Overall, this is awesome.
