Red Skinned Potato Salad

1/2 mayo 1/2 sour cream double potatoes added splash of dill weed. New Red Potatoes come in a variety of sizes, I cooked mine longer pulling the smaller ones out after 20+ min and I had very hard potatoes.

Cheese and Hamburger Macaroni

I gave it 5 stars only because its very good for what it is.. a mac n cheese dish. It is quick, easy and inexpensive and the kids love it. If judged against all foods I'd give it a 3. Only change to the recipe was that I only had 1 and 1/2 cups of macaroni so I reduced the water to 1 and 1/2 cups as well. Came out great. Loved the one pot deal. My grandson loved it. All was well with the world.

Mashed Potato Casserole

This makes up ahead of time really well. I took it up to the point of baking, the day before Thanksgiving and I cooked and crumbled bacon and left in plastic baggie the day before as well. Thanksgiving day pulled it out of refrigerator an hour before placing in oven, added about a 1/4 of milk and mixed, then cooked for 30 minutes at 325 then topped with additional cheddar, bacon and onion rings, cooked for another 5 minutes then turned off oven and let it sit there until time to put it on the table ( another 30 minutes ). Rave reviews from everyone.

Aussie Chicken

WOW! and I'm not a fan of mustard. I don't know if something was going on with my computer or the website the day I made this dish, but I couldn't read the reviews ( which I use for cooking hints, tips and substitutions). So, I didn't use corn syrup and I browned the chicken and sauteed the mushrooms slightly in the bacon grease. I also wound up using Kraft shredded Mexican 4 cheese for topping. Yum Yum is all I can say. My husband agreed and he's quite picky. Served with asparagus sauteed in the bacon drippings with a bit of Balsamic vinegar and mashed potatoes. Definitely a keeper recipe.

Pepper Steak

My daughter (aged 17 and the pickiest eater of all time!!!) thinks this is better than any she's ever tasted. I had to leave out the water chestnuts but I've made it 3 times now and the whole family loves it. It's quick and easy! When I buy the steak, I slice it before freezing. When I leave for work in the morning I throw the meat in the frig. When I get home it's thawed. My daughter starts cooking the meat while I slice onions and green peppers. Done in 15 minutes! YEAH!!!!

Rum or Bourbon Balls

I don't do deserts at all because I always find a way to mess them up and I really don't have much of a sweet tooth, but these were easy to make and while a bit sweeter than I'd like, they were pretty d*** good! I finally found something that I can't over/under cook, and that alone is worth 5 stars.

Hazel's Cranberry Sauce

My first time making cranberry sauce. Had I known it was this easy to make I would have done this decades ago. Much better than store bought and I would have rated it a 5 star but I'm not real crazy about cloves and to me a little less on the cloves or no cloves would have been better.

Cornbread Stuffing Southern Style

I first reviewed this 12/5/05 and I've made this a lot since then. I have only one problem with this recipe, my 23 y/o daughter insists that we have this every single holiday. I'm ready for a change, but my family won't let me. Well I'm off to make the cornbread now.
