Baked Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
My whole family loved this. The addition of the sour cream and cream cheese along with the ricotta really made a nice difference from other similar dishes I've made. The only change I'll make for next time is to increase the sauce a bit.

Broccoli and Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
I made this for a potluck at work and people went crazy for it! I substituted sliced almonds for the sunflower seeds and omitted the bacon to make it vegetarian-friendly. Will definitely make again!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
I really liked this but my husband and son did not. You have to really like the taste of balsamic vinegar to enjoy this recipe.

As suggested by other reviewers, I also cut the onion in half. I added some shredded cheddar cheese too. Yum! My whole family loved it!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Too sweet for what I consider to be a "classic" macaroni salad but it is all a matter of taste. The next time I make it I would only use about a third of the sugar the recipe calls for. I would also incorporate more mayo.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
If have made pot roasts with many different recipes over the years. I think this one is my new favorite. I just love how it automatically makes a thick gravy which saves me time after the roast is cooked! I made two slight adjustments: 1) increase/change liquid to: 1 cup water + 1 cup beef broth 2) season the roast with Montreal steak seasoning. Perfect!!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Very good recipe! My entire family loved it. I only made two changes - used sausage instead of bacon and added 4 additional eggs. 6 eggs really isn't enough to balance the rest of the ingredients. Will definitely make again!

Tomato Bisque III

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
This soup is absolutely amazing! I didn't have to modify it one bit. Everyone at my dinner party positively raved about this soup. I'm so glad I made a double batch - we froze some for a future dinner. Still tasted awesome after frozen.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
I love this! It used to be so time consuming to make beef stew the traditional way and this slow cooker recipe gives the same great results without all the work. I like tomatos in my stew so added a large can of chopped diced tomatos at the start of cooking...along with a little more flour to ensure a thicker gravy. An hour before serving I also added a can of peas. Delicious!

Classic Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This is wonderful, simple and nutritious! For more color and interest, I substituted one of the cans of black-eyed peas for a can of black beans then I added some canned corn. Perfect!

Merry Berry Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Very good tasting and makes a great presentation in a glass bowl. For a different variation, I added thin slices of red onion and crumbled bacon. Instead of using the shredded parmesan I substituted a five cheese Italian blend. Very yummy! I also didn't have fresh cranberries for the dressing so I substitued a partial can of whole cranberry sauce. Still turned out great! As other reviewers have stated, you will have way more than enough dressing.

Great recipe and a definite hit at the two parties I made it for. The only thing I changed was swapping chopped walnuts for the pecans.

Potato Soup X

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I felt the soup needed more flavor. And the consistency was more like soupy mashed potatos. It was quick to make but not my favorite potato soup.
