Oatmeal with Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
Very good. But the apple juice was WAY TOO MUCH! The consistency was great but the flavor was bad! Next time I will do what the others suggest and reduce the apple juice alot! or just not use it and use milk or water instead.

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
I made only half a recipe, the cheese ball was the same size as a premade cheese ball from the store. I took some others advice and rolled it in Real bacon bits (Hormel, in a jar). Everyone really like it! I felt that it was a bit too salty for me... may try a diffrent recipe next time. But, this one was VERY easy and got good reviews from everyone at the party. Hint: try microwaving the cream cheese for only a few seconds (15-20) then mix in the ranch dressing then the cheddar cheese. Mine mixed great. I then formed the ball in the mixing bowl with my spoon and dropped the cheese ball onto a plate that had bacon bits already on it. Use the bacon bits that are on the plate (and not under the cheese ball) to sprinkly on top and around the cheese ball. This will be much easier to handle and there won't be a sticky mess trying to roll the cheese ball in bacon bits or nuts. I made mine the night before our party, it does harden up alot. I would recommend using a cheese knife, otherwise your crackers will break if trying to scoop it up with them.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
These are BIG and yummy! I too used an ice cream scoop, and I was able to make 15 cookies. I had to adjust my cooking time a bit longer (about 20 minutes). These are not your thin crispy chocolate chip cookies, one is a meal itself! Definitley a special treat!! thanks for a great recipe!!

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2008
Very good. Did have to remove from heat once the baking soda was added. We thought it tasted great. Seems to thicken as it cools. My only question is how long does it hold for in the fridge? This recipe makes a lot of syrup for our little family of 4. A nice change from the store bought stuff.

Harvest Corn Chicken Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
Very very good! I used the water that I boiled my chicken in for the 2 cups of water in the recipe. Other than that, everything was the same as the recipe, and it was delicious, will definitely make again!!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
These are wonderful. My husband was late leaving for work, just so he could have a muffin. Then he called along his way and said they were awesome! I agree. Thanks.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
I used my pizza crust recipe, which is why I am only giving 4 stars. The alfredo sauce turned out great. And the seasoning on the chicken was realy good. I cooked my chicken breasts on the stove top with olive oil and the seasonings, then sliced it thinly. We also added mushrooms, black olives, and onion. Then topped it all with about 1/2 cup of mozzerlla. Very good, will make again!

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
We weren't big fans of this. And based upon all the other wonderful reviews, I assume that we must not like curry. Maybe it is something that you have to acquire a taste for, I don't know, but I don't think that we'll be making this again. Sorry.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
one word: AWESOME! I didn't have bread crumbs, so I crushed some saltine crackers. I also mixed the bread crumb (cracker) mixture in my food processor. I used 1/2 tsp. of minced roasted garlic (from a jar)because I buy that instead of cloves, it last much longer. Definitely deserves 5 stars. Thanks, will make again!

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This is very good! I only gave it 4 stars, because I did some upgrades. Used Medium Salsa, instead of boiling the chicken I cubed it and cooked in some olive oil with the onions. I also added black beans and frozen corn with the layers (layed them ontop of the chicken). And... I added taco seasoning to the chicken and only used cream of chicken soup (omitted the mushroom soup). Cooked up very nicely in the layers, the sauce went down through and everything was moist. Cooked for 40 minutes covered and then 10 uncovered in the overn. Served with tortilla chips and sourcream! Thanks.

Pumpkin Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
I only made half the recipe and it was still too much for one box of Ginger snaps. And next time I may try Nilla wafers, the spice of the Ginger Snaps is too overpowereing to taste any of the flavor from the dip.

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
Made exactly as the recipe says and it was very good! It cooked in a little less time than stated, about 30 minutes, but that may have been because of the temperature that it was cooking at. Thanks, we will make it again!

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
Awesome! I don't know why everyone is complaining about the amount of work. It wasn't difficult, just fried chicken pieces and sauce. And super yummy!! I did do as another reviewer suggested and added some salt and baking powder to my batter because I only had All Purpose flour. We served it over brown rice and with a side of brocolli. Thanks for a great "Chinese food" recipe! Will definitely make again!

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Excellent! Very very good. I didn't have any pecans, so I followed some others advice and added a handful of chocolate chips with the brown sugar and cinnamon- it was great! Next time I'll make sure that I have pecans and I'll still add the chocolate chips. Thanks for the great recipe!

Mac and Cheese II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
Very Good! This is exactly what I was looking for. I've always just made my mac and cheese from scratch, with no recipe, I just winged it. So, this time I decided to look for something very similar to what I typically make. This recipe calls for no spices, so I added some salt, pepper, and onion powder. Thanks!!

Chicken Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
I changed a few things. I used cheddar cheese on top, and crushed cheez-its crackers. Instead of peas and carrots I used chopped broccoli. It was ok. Honestly the sauce is very similar to what I use for chicken enchiladas. So, next time I'll use rice instead of the noodles, and add corn and black beans, then it'll be a chicken enchillada casserole! Overall, not bad, especially when you are low on gorceries, because these are the ingredients that we seem to always have around!
