About this Cook
I am married with three girls! I am busy all the time, yet sometimes feel like I am getting nothing accomplished!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook new foods! I love to bake! I just love to feed people! I am always inviting people over for dinner, love having company, love to entertain!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started having Thanksgiving at my house a few years ago and made a Pumpkin Soup. Now every year the whole family calls at least sometime during November to make sure I'm making it! Also, my makes lasagna every Christmas and turkey soup any time we have a turkey. It is the BEST!
My cooking triumphs
I am very cautious when it comes to cooking. Baking is a passion and i have been doing it for ever, so it seems. But cooking, really cooking, not just "boxing it" is fairly new and I am really excited at how well it is going!
My cooking tragedies
The only time I can think of that I had something just totally flop was a pie I made this summer. It was on the cover of Southern Living. It was beautiful! Lemon pie. Mine was just as beautiful, and even though I followed the recipe to the letter, it was awful! It tasted metallic and no one would eat it! So sad!

Fragrant Lemon Chicken
This is my first attempt at a whole chicken! I used a few suggestions from other people. I did saute the onion w/ a few garlic cloves before putting it over the chicken. Also took the chicken broth instead of water suggestion. Did not have a real lemon so I substituted lemon juice. Keeping my fingers crossed! It smells great and I'm hoping to use leftovers to make lemon chicken orzo!

Beer Cheese Soup II
I made this for dinner tonight and my family (full of picky eaters in one way or another) were practically licking the bowls! I took suggestions from a lot of other reviews, but the only changes I made were flour as a thickening, and a mixture of white and yellow extra sharp cheddar cheese. I can't rave about it enough!
