I too made some changes. Seared the chops quickly (seasoned with kosher salt and black pepper, both sides) then used the same pan to build the sauce. I tripled the sauce and it made enough for 4 people. Added 3 tablespoons of flour, to thicken, then 3 apples, brown sugar, and instead of just nutmeg and cinnamon I added homemade pumpking pie spice (the cloves gave it such a nice flavor!). I also added, about 3/4 C of apple juice for liquid. Cooked until apples were almost cooked and finished it all off in the oven for 30 minutes, total cooking time was 45 minutes, they were incredible. Served with pumpkin pie spiced acorn squash for a nice fall themed dinner.
