Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I used this as a base recipe for a banana ice cream. I did sub. the 2 eggs with 1 egg and 3 yolks. I used 4 pureed bananas, stirred them in after cooking and it was awesome.

Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
This rating is for the dough only. It came out wonderful and the addition of the potatoes was new to me; I always like trying new things and this was easy. I used a different filling: 1/3 cup butter, 1 cup packed brown sugar and 2 1/2 tbls of cinnamon. YUM.

Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
These pecan tarts were great. They are like little pecan pies, but better. I followed the recipe exactly except I baked them in mini tart pans. They also went great with my husband's home brewed espresso stout! If you like good beer, pick up an espresso stout and have a impromptu beer/food paring.

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
This was a great and beautiful cake. I baked the cake in 3 7-in round pans and layered them. I topped with Extra Creamy Cool Whip. It turned out beautiful and delicious. (check out the photos for this recipe, mine is included) I used frozen strawberries and chopped them in my food processor; they were a little juicy when I put them on the bottom of the pans. I then sprinkled each pan with the dry Jello and followed with marshmallows. I used a little more berries and marshmallows than called for so I had a good layer of each in each pan. I then poured in the cake batter. I do have to say that when baking I had to have faith that the cake would come out as well as the All Recipe members said in the reviews. The cake bubbled and looked very odd when baking, but in the end it turned out great! BTW, I did not spray my non stick pans with any cooking spray and the cakes came out of the pan fine.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
This was very flavorful. I did do a few things differently: I added oil from the sun dried tomatoes, used red wine vinegar (b/c I was out of basalmic) and spread a layer of pesto on the bread prior to the tomato mixture. I also let the tomato mixtrue set overnight so the flavors could meld. I will mike this again! Yum!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This icing is great; I will never use another. In past years I used other icings and my cookies looked just OK. This icing allowed me the control I needed but also was easy to spread if needed. My cookies look so good...I am shocked! I mixed up the colors and put the icing in individual freezer bags, cut a tiny bit from the tip of the bag and spread it on the cookie, taking care around the edges. Then used a small brush to push the icing around and fill in. It dried shiny, I love it. I did have to add some extra milk...added until the icing was the consistancy of sour cream (thick but still a bit fluid). I used the icing on Emily's Famous Chocolate Shortbead Cookies (recipe on this site) the contrast of the dark cookie with the icing looks great and the taste combination turned out yummy!

Great cookies! I followed the recipe exactly except swapping 1/2 cup flour for cocoa becasue I love chocolate!. I chilled the dough overnight and rolled them out the next day. They rolled out wonderful. They made great Christmas cookies, used "Sugar Cookie Icing" from this site which also was wonderful. Allrecipes and the member reviews NEVER let me down.

Holiday Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
This is a very EASY recipe and it is GREAT. I made no changes, except I did soften the butter, otherwise I would have been mixing forever. They still turned out great. BTW - I made them for a Celtic Chritmas Party and everybody commented on how wonderful and authentic they were.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
I used a spice cake mix and a 15 oz can of pumpkin. The muffins turned out great, very moist. It is hard to believe that the can of pumpkin will provide enough moisture, but it did. I will be making these AGAIN.

Chocolate Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
These brownies are good. The peanut butter does distract from the chocolate a little, so they are not as chocolatly as your regular brownie. Great when you don't have a brownie mix on hand. Ingrediants are common kitchen staples, so this is a great dessert to make on a whim. Overall, I liked them!
