Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
This was so great! My son who is almost 6 loved it and he is a very picky eater. I didn't have apple juice in the house so I took another reviewers advice and used pineapple. I also added a little mustard.

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
The first time I made these biscuits they came out horrible. I couldn't figure out why after reading all of the great reviews. Then this weekend I gave it another go and realized what had happened. My son bakes with me and he put in 2 T. of baking powder instead of 2 tsp. I know this because he almost did it again! This time they came out perfect and fluffly and tasted great.

Jewish Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
I added the sugar and cinnamin to the apples and let them sit for an hour to set. I also used 1 more apple then the recipe called for. I used a blend of granny smith and jonathan. The cake came out great. It was a fun Rosh Hashana cake for my 5 year old son and I to make together. L'Shanah Tovah!

Lime Fish Tacos

Great recipe. I used Tilapia which works well with fish tacos. I did add some chopped cilantro to the sauce as well. My family loved it!

Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
I made this twice. Once with a store brand sharp cheddar and once with a premium brand. It does make a difference. To really not end up with a bland dish you have to use a premium brand cheese. I also added a bit of provolone. Came out great! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it didn't reheat well the next day and all mac and cheese should be great leftovers.

Easy Mac and Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
First I have to say my 6 year old son gobbled this up! He loved it! However, it was a little bland for me and the breadcrumb topping was salty. I followed the recipe without any change. On the positive side it was creamy yet kept a good muffin form. Next time I will lessen the salt in the crumb topping and maybe add a little salt in the mac mixture instead. This was such a fun food! Thank you. EDIT: I'm back to add an afterthought. I heated these up the next day and I have to say, they reheat very well. They weren't bland the next day. It seems to be that this is a great "make-ahead" meal. Delicious!

Maple Apple Crisp

This was a great recipe. I only enhanced it a bit. I added peaches because my son loves peaches and apples. Also, I added cinnamon. Great recipe! Thank you.

Coffee Roasted Beef Chuck

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This was a brilliant idea. I was looking for a way to make my chuck roast without beef stock since I didn't have any in the house. I only made a few changes. I had already seasoned my roast yesterday with a mixture of a seasoning mixture I keep in a jar that consists of salt, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, onion powder and dried parsley. After I sauteed the onioons I added more of the seasoning to the onions (left out the fresh garlic)and let them sautee for another minute. Then I added the roast back in and splashed it with some Worcestershire. I then added the coffee, all 6 cups made a little strong. I added about 1/4 cup ketchup for a little sweetness. It came out fantastic! The very last thing I did different was add a roux. I didn't have sour cream so I did this instead. Yummy! The family loved it. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because I changed the recipe a bit.
