The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Fantastic. Rolled out so smooth and easy. It only became sticky if the dough got too warm. I worked a 1/4 of the dough at a time with the rest in the fridge and re-chilled the dough if it started getting too sticky for 10 min or so.

Golden Dinner Rolls

Fantastic! I substituted the shortening with butter as well. The dough was a little sticky but the key was to keep a small smattering of flour on it without over working it. The finished product was light and airy. I ended up using about 7 cups of flour in the end. Depending on your elevation and levels of moisture in the air you can use more or less flour than this recipe calls for. I will definately make it again. It tasted like my grandma's bread and I've been dying to get that recipe for ages!

Creamed Peas and New Potatoes

This recipe was a perfect rendition of the old time dish my grandma used to make me growing up on the farm. It's very simple and the flavors of the vegetables are really able to shine. I recommend using fresh peas and red potatoes from the garden or local farmer's market. The supermarket just won't be the same.

Easy Chicken Cacciatore

I was a little leary of the green beans in this, but I decided to try it. The dish was a huge hit. I almost triple the amount of garlic, because we are huge garlic fans.

My family loves this. I'm not a fan of water cress or celery, so to get the needed crunch I add chopped pecans. I also substitute green grapes for red grapes.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

This was the best chili I've ever had. I made some modifications to the original recipe. I changed up the beans added to this and used some northern beans, pinto beans, and black beans. I left out garbonzo beans and kidney beans because they are disliked in my family. I did add more chili pepper as suggested by another reviewer and it made it just that much better.
